I know how you feel. It's reached the point with me where I avoid using the car, unless I know I'm going somewhere with decent parking.
I will use the car however for long journeys, although then I'm paranoid about getting a stone chip!!
Unfortunately typical OCD behaviour. Albeit mild, I started to see a therapist who is trying to rid me of these issues. The other day I dropped her home in my daily car- a DS3, which was brought new in March, so I am still a bit fussy about this car too. Outside her house was her husband, so I got out of the car to introduce myself, where upon their neighbour in a W reg Golf complete with tow hook reverses into my car causing over £2,000 worth of damage. My therapist and her husband are both Israeli and without meaning to stereotype are not very careful drivers, their car looking like a banger racer!
The irony of the situation was not lost on me or her, and maybe it was a setup to teach me to be less worried about a car!!
At least it wasn't the Ghibli. My repairer has had the car for over two weeks in order to get it returned to perfect OCD condition!!
They found a blemish in the paint and said they would rather keep the car and rectify it, knowing how critical I am.
