Hi everyone, car is now acquired and ready for some enjoyment this year. Overall in very good condition, but I will be doing the usual preventative maintenance/tidy ups etc.
1st job was a good clean. Body work in good condition, but was definitely in need of a good clay before polishing up and waxing to protect it for the year.
For those interested, I am by no means a "detailer" but like to keep my cars in very good condition so - started with autoglym body shampoo, 2- bucket method, and 2 washes. Then clay-bar which really made a difference, got back that smooth glass like finish when you run your hands over. Great! This was followed by autogylm SRP, which I have always found to be excellent. Gave a great shine, then covered with 2 coats of collinite 476.
Lovely and shiny and well protected by the superbly durable collinite.
I have also got some Hybrid v7, to use over the top as a quick detailer, which on dark cars I have always found to be amazing.
Pictures below.
Really pleased with the shine. The metallic flake in Blu nettuno looks stunning as it glints in the sun.
Interior was treated with the superb gliptone products. Unfortunately though during my over zealous dusting the once perfectly intact beautiful scroll of "maserati" on the ashtray broke! So it is now like most of the others I have seen. Gutted- and I hope the rest of the car isn't as fragile?! I will be on the hunt for replacement ....
Looking forward to some summer blasts and some meets - planning Newby Hall in May. A good while back when I had a Z4MC the Z4-forum was a great community and an enjoyable part of ownership, from what I have seen of this forum, it seems much the same.
