Many of the GS that were sold for the UK market seem to have the US/Canadian type manifolds - that is they have shorter primaries with a pre-cat before the pipes dip under the steering rack. There are many different parts in this are including the hose from the dry sump tank to the oil pump, heat shields etc. The outlets of these manifolds are in an entirely different position/orientation to cars (4300's) that have the more usual EU 4:! manifolds, so the Larini sport cat section is also different.
Having had this all off and on my car twice as I damaged the aforementioned oil pipe, I am surprised you thing a system is twisted. There is simply so many places it needs to be adjusted to get the Larini system to sit correctly under the car I would say its probably the pipes immediately after the manifold are not properly aligned.
That could have been a lot worse Mark, fingers crossed the diagnostics don't show up anything else
Let her dry out before she goes in the garage if possible or there will be lots of damp trapped there for a long time.
Indeed it could. However, the bright sparks on here diagnosed a F1 pump as a possible failure.
I'll get her back before Christmas, and then she'll get washed and go straight in the garage under her newish cover for the rest of winter.
Oh dear still no happy news, it does seem to be taking an extremely long time to diagnose and resolve I am pretty sure other indies would have been much faster than this.
Hopefully they will get it sorted and at worse if the clutch needs to be replaced it will always help in the future. Mine has been getting better and better as each part of the CC system was changed, Actuator, Clutch and finally Pump & Relay. It now drives totally differently and although at the time is was financially painful I am happy to have get there eventually.
They won't have any luck with the Alfa diagnostics unless they can crack the code and change the ECU address on the CAN.
However, I may be driving past that way tomorrow afternoon with my SD3 - I would be happy to stop by and let them use it on your car.
