Yeah but, that sounds like a middle aged man talking.....verging on a nursing home next......;)

P
He is thinking of retirement soon, we're choosing his nursing home, it's a cross between a Benny Hill sketch and a pub with a juke box of engine noises...

Morning everyone, off to test drive the mx5 today, three cars Abarth 124, Fiat 124, mx5 all the same interior. Badge engineering at its finest.

I hear the MX5 is the one to buy......my Alfa dealer told me, the MX5 will have better residuals and is the better all round car, i must say i prefer it to the Fiat, shame really

The Fiat is dull, no noise, 1.4t engine only 130bhp...the abarth has noise, 170bhp from the same engine. If mazda can out a 2litre engine in then so can FIAT. I'll expect they will soon.

Morning all. Good start to the day, just been paid for two jobs! And have also received an excellent recommendation from one of my clients to a potential client, which will hopefully mean we do the entire portfolio of hotels for the new client. Happy days!

Only a few bits and bobs to do today, so I might have an early finish this afternoon. After all. I am the boss.

Morning all, all this talk about cars, anyone would think this is a car forum! This place is the epitimy of mad driving... glad I didn't hire a motorbike or car now.

Still running ahead of schedule so a lazy start today, just got to wire it all in (except the lamp column as the concrete is too green). Local team are paving the area today so I'll be working around them a bit. Hoping Nik can sort collection of the twinny lump for delivery to Duncan. Missing home, family and a V8!

Have fun all...

Morning all,

Eventually got back from Cardiff last night just before midnight in the rental E class. I seemed to hit every set of overnight roadworks on the way after a promising start. It didn't help that I found it difficult to get a comfortable driving position, I may have time to find that by the time the Ghibli is fixed.

The initial diagnosis is the power steering pump. I'll get a full report once it makes it to the local dealer, along with an estimate of when it will be fixed. They did mention that they've been waiting on a steering rack for a Ferrari for 3 months! With the Ghibli being more of a mass production car I wouldn't expect it to be anything like that.

After the 240 miles in the E class I took at look at some reviews, to compare them to the Ghibli reviews. What a joke. I found the whole control system counter intuitive. There are about three different ways to switch between the different modes on the screen, and I find the touch screen on the Ghibli far easier to use than the wheel or touchpad. The only things I like are the sat nav displaying the next two junctions or services, with distances, overlaid onto the screen and the cruise control. Hopefully I won't have to live with it too long.

Lazy day today, but that means I'll have to do some work tomorrow. Without the Maserati outside to tempt me that should be easier than normal.

Good not quite morning anymore, everyone!
I'm pleased to hear the good news of Llandow yesterday. After my return from France, I was in no fit state for a track day so relieved I had to pull out. I did collect Myfanwy from Emblem. One again, thanks to all the guys there for great service.

Also very pleased to hear your news, Mr Capes! Very well done and it sounds like you deserve this if you're getting recommended that way.

I'm now heading into Oxford to meet my parents and friend to go and see some Rembrandts. He's one of the two artists whose paintings always go straight to my heart with quite a deep emotional response.

HapPea Friday!

Newton, good work getting ahead so well. I hope you can start reasonably relaxed and then get a great reunion with your various loves!

Mark MAF, how's the BiL doing?

Glad you got home OK.....If minus a Ghibli.

A very good Saturday morning to all.......Have thoughts of stripping out the Brera...two racing seats, bit more power, lower.....track car in the making...Just need to get the fecking thing to go first.

Because I would need 15 to 20k to get anything decent and to be honest I don't want an early 4200 or early QP... Getting too old. When/if I get a Maserati it will be a GT or maybe a QP Sport GTS and for that you 25k and upwards. That I don't have.

Even if I just strip every thing out of the Brera and do nothing else it will not cost a penny. A couple of racing seats for under a 1k ..... Cheap track car for Llandow.
