Well following on from Matt's thread back in August there is some love for the TR7/8 wedges on here, although I am sure I will get some stick as well.
As I said at the time I briefly had a TR7 a couple of years ago and have always wanted a genuine TR8.
I wasn't looking seriously but have followed up a few leads (thanks MAF250) and kept an eye on the classifieds and a few weeks ago what would probably be me ideal car came up for sale.
The snag was despite being a genuine RHD TR8 it was located in Copenhagen but after a bit of negotiation a deal was done and Mark and I set off flying from Luton to Copenhagen to pick the car up, we then drove the car back to the Hook of Holland and a ferry back to Harwich. Fair play to the car it didn't miss a beat.
It is No.1 of 18 RHD production TR8 DHC and was originally supplied to the Reliability & Quality Department, Rover, Solihull.
It drives really well, feels very balanced with good steering and a lovely gearbox.
Definitely the car the TR7 should always have been.
