Cracking day Andy - many many thanks for organising once again.
Top thanks to Lisa and Susie who spent the ENTIRE day running the desk; neither of them left the gate all day, and didn't see anything else at the event, nor did they even get a single ride. Can't thank them enough!
Fully agree we need to put more cars through the gate. We have some ideas on how to achieve that, which I'll discuss with you Andy...
As for lending you my car mate - no worries. Did you realise that the cameras also have audio, and recorded your every word?
Very touching comments from you, very tidy handling (much better than the Tiv which spun infront of you and nicely captured on camera - big clouds of tyre smoke!), and I appreciate the care you took yet still using the performance. Any time my friend, any time... Sorry if the 8 laps have cost you £25k
Very pleased with my car; as you say it handles incredibly well for a luxo-barge weighing as much as a small planet, and tricked out with all the toys. Everyone commented on how cool the car was inside (I was still running the a/c as I don't like sweating like pig) compared to the heat in all the other cars they tried.
Update on the remap - it feels much quicker low down (85mph by the first corner), but I have to say it also appeared to have lost a spot of top end (above 130). That said, Bruntingthorpe back straight is immensely wide, which changes the perception of speed dramatically. When I followed MAF round a lap, I stayed with him entirely through to the chicane, and lost only a few yards on the straight, so perhaps it's fast enough? I had two big passengers in at the time... In any event, I'm happy with that result
As ever, the brakes are the limiting factor on the track, but I'm amazed to see that the lighter cars were suffering much more than my QP. It should by rights be the other way round, surely?
The tiny shower made the track slightly slippery in places for a few minutes, but nothing more. At no point did I run out of talent, which was satisfying. Very pleased that the weather forecast was absolutely spot on though, and that we weren't running on Friday or today!
Figures for the day were 101 miles on track, and 8.1 mpg. Tyre wear on the semi-slicks was negligible - they were so hot and sticky, I believe I've actually collected your cast off rubber, thereby making it a wear-neutral day
As ever, great day out, fab to see the old and new faces, and hope everyone else enjoyed it as much as me
Look forward to seeing everyone there next year!
