Really wishing I hadn't seen this post....
Judging by the amount of time 3200's spend with a swimming pool in the boot, a bit of soggy carpet won't be a problem, I think this could be a steal, it wouldn't be difficult to whip the carpet out and clean/ dry it properly. Even if the seats have turned in to sponges I bet replacements would be easy enough to sort.
Anyone recognise the car?
It's a decent price at the minute, even if you had to buy all new carpets..?? If it goes much higher then it would start to lose it's recoverable appeal. It's only done 42K so for the year that's really good. Worth a punt at current money, it needs to be a runner.
I think the main issues are going to be electrics and possible smell contamination. If the water has had sewerage in it, then the carpets and possibly seats could be wasted. You would need to examine the interior to see where the fluids got to, exterior is not that bad a problem.
The joy of guaranteed value insurance policies I guess, have you seen the E type jag on there with a POV of £60k? For a 2+2? Don't think so.
Assuming it isn't full of sewage and doesn't smell I'd agree at 5k it makes some sense, any more and I'd rather buy the one on GS wheels with no marker and lower miles!
