Maybe try some 'scenic' routes then - probably takes just as long but at least you're moving (I use a good ol'fashioned AA map book that highlights scenic routes to plot our journeys)Heading home at that point so M6 woes to be expected!

We have maps in all our cars and use them regularly here in France and have some amazing journeys and no annoying yapping in your ears.Maybe try some 'scenic' routes then - probably takes just as long but at least you're moving (I use a good ol'fashioned AA map book that highlights scenic routes to plot our journeys)

Gosh I can get down to the South of France in that time Peter. As someone who travels to Penrith frequently from the Cotswolds (M5/6) I agree.
My last use of the same motorway route took 10 hours to Penrith... with 2 dogs and a very annoyed GF.
And I know the food choices on route would have been better too Phil.Gosh I can get down to the South of France in that time Peter.
No potholes either Peter. And I know the food choices on route would have been better too Phil.
Hi
Planning to do the NC500 next year. What does the collective think of this route/accomodation? Is it overly ambitious? Your feedback and reccomendations greatly received!

You're not helping Ian!Drumbeg . We stayed here at a B&B. Stunning, you think Applecross road is a challenge - I won't spoil the anticipation for you Eb .
Fantastic weather and lovely drive today!
Until the Maz threw a CEL passing through Glen Coe....
Engine running sweet still though. Have checked the petrol cap but that may take a while to resolve itself according to the internet (If only this is the problem!)
We've pressed on, taken a ferry across the water, and managed to arrive at our bothy (2) for the night.
Mrs Dr Eb not happy.....
I'll give Applecross a miss tomorrow I think!
If i don't report back tomorrow, send out the search party!

Worth checking as there will be a historical code stored Mark.'Check Engine' sounds super serious, but the handbook just says, "Oh, there might be something up with your emissions; might be sensors, dunno. Take it easy, and maybe have someone look at it one day"
Came up on my QPV when I came back from holiday and replaced the battery. Went away after a couple of days.

Yes, definitely. But it is tiresome that what looks like an 'engine about to blow up' light, is just a 'something might be a bit off' light.
