......................monkeys to fly better than this.
I had a ding in the passenger door of the Granturismo. I've no idea where it came from, I'm fastidious where I leave her.
It looked like an air gun pellet.
A dent, and small chip at the centre.
Booked in to the local dent repair shop.

I could have done better than that.
A child could have done better than that.
A crude attempt to pull out the dent, but not enough.
The crude brush gobs of paint, and hand lacquered over. No attempt at knifing putty, wet and dry.
I'm shocked anyone could charge for such work.
I would be ashamed to let out of my hands.

I'm experienced with airbrush, in another guise I'm quite well know over the world for museum quality finishes, but not automotive.
I wouldn't attempt this. I had some paint mixed for a minor repair (the dreaded headlamp washer cover). It's nowhere near. However the killer for me is matching the pearlescent finish that many Maserati's have. Mine's the ubiquitous Blu Oceano, which changes from deep blue, through pale blue to near purple under different light. The consituent lacquer particulates have to be right, concentration, and direction.

So..............................................

I need a reliable paintshop who can match, probably the whole door or blend.

I'm in the middle of nowhere in the North Cotswolds, have used shops as far as rural Wiltshire in the past, but anywhere in the Gloucester, Cirencester, Cheltenham, Worcester, Stratford upon Avon area 40 miles radius.

Any suggestions PLEASE.

I couldn’t find anyone in the area (Worcs) and ended up painting the Vette myself. In 30 years of having car paintwork done there’s only two places that have done a job I was 100% with; Central BMW in Brum (now Sytner and I wouldn’t touch them with someone else’s barge pole) and a place in Manchester recommended by Dicky, I’d travel there, might be a trek but they were good.

My guys are detailers more, but Cotswold Bespoke are involved with classic car restorations - and have a body repair contact so I would contact them

Who does Harry Metcalf use in the Cotswolds as he's had a fair bit of paintwork done on his cars recently.

If you drove your car East to the furthest point Michael Toon comes West from Dents Plus in Bury St Edmunds, he is your man. The man is a magician when it comes to fixing dents.

Regular body shop, I recommend Auto Body Tech in Nailsworth. Just done the bumper on my BluO QPV. Used them for other work too. One of the owners, Chris, has a QP6.

Or PRH in Stonehouse. Shop looks like sh1t but has done good work for me on previous (Black) QPV.

For detailing, mine is going in to Zero Boundaries in Wootton Under Edge in a couple of weeks from now for paint correction and ceramic coating. Not used them before , but they have fantastic reviews, and he seems like good guy.

Great. I was beginning to dispare that there was no one closer than Kings Lynn.
The concern was getting the pearlescent finish to match. I'll give them a try.
Thanks as always Mark.
Fabulous
