Dean I have a lift kit with it to move it. 2 casters and a jockey wheel thingy. It was forklifted to my garage. There’s no chance I could move it.

These seem more cost effective!

Anyone with a scissor lift had clearance problems and have any recommendation?

Hi there,

I have a similar lift and had similar clearance problems initially (after I had bolted it down on my slippy painted floor!) Just got some chipboard flooring boards and put those down at either end to effectively raise the wheels enough ( and thus the sills) to get the block underneath. Eventually I intend to cut into the floor and mount it flush to the floor for a super tidy finish - not sure I'll ever have the time to get round to that though!

I have the same problem. My lift is full height (unlike my garage!) and the Strad is too low. I was going to go the wood route but that link from Amazon looks the business. I might still end up making them this weekend though.

Yep, that’s why it should be sunk in. Have one where I store my car, so, I have supplied them, 4 3ft long 1” thick scaff boards....

I think it said 3 inches in my instructions. But this is because it have to take 3 tonnes plus the 800 kg of the lift so there is some leeway. The bolts are about 2 inches long.

My gaming room project in the garage has taken a minor backwards step though.

On the plus side or negative side depending on how you look at it.....a trip to Euro Car Parts and Halfords filled half of the TVR's boot tonight

Amazing what you can but for not a lot of money if you're a canny shopper. Halfords trade discount and then extra 10% AA discount makes a fair bit of difference.

Set of Pagid discs and pads all round for the XC90 was 160 + vat....not bad I thought.

I think the XC90 discs were a bit knackered!

Good now though and a quick clean of alloys after I'd had them refurbed last year with new centre caps. Looking much better now

Father Xmas has just been with some more garage tools

I'll need another garage soon to store all the tools for the garage!

Looks a nice set. I have a set of the plastic ones and one of the metal clip removers. Very handy indeed!

Indeed. I have a similar set to what you describe but this one wasn't expensive and more comprehensive with a nice little case. Think it was 12.99 so great VFM.

Left top to right is magnifying glass, HD wireless endescope, auto electric probe.

Main item is trim removal set for door panels, trims with all sorts of hidden fixing removal tools.

Dean, which scissor lift did you buy? It looks like the automotech one but I don't think you've mentioned it.
I'd prefer a 4 post lift but that is going to mean some roof alterations and a new garage door as the posts of a 4 poster will foul an up and over door.
Since we are listed I know our only other garage door option is ordinary front opening ones which I don't really want . Aroller would be nice but conservation have said "non".
So a mid rise scissor it is. Strongman or automotech are favourite so far.

Thanks. I'd need to check my electrics for that. Prices are about the same mind. Being close helps as delivery charges are substantial I'm finding.
