Some years ago a United States Trooper attended the scene of a road traffic accident involving a brand new Winnebago luxury motor home. The vehicle was in a ditch on the far side of a bend. There were many miles of deserted straight road leading upto the hazard. Conditions were perfect. There were no marks on the road or other clues as to how this might have happened. Upon interviewing the driver in hospital the mystery was solved. The driver explained that he had been driving along quite happily when he decided to engage the cruise control. Thinking that this was an auto pilot, he got down from the driving seat and went out the back to make himself a cup of tea!

This story reminds me of another mysterious case closer to home. A dead man was found in a built up area with multiple fractures. There was no indication of how this had been caused. It later transpired that he had been a stow away aboard a commercial aircarft. Apparently the crew upon releasing the landing gear also jettisoned the body. This resulted in the poor chap making a suprise appearance in a Sainsburys car park.
