I’m in the US on business and have just taken delivery of this little box of goodies - am slightly nervous of checking 12 bottles of lovely red wine on a transatlantic flight, but will see how it goes!....

Hi all,

The good news is my wine got back from the US unscathed, and the even better news is the Customs lady let me bring it all in without any duty payable...

To celebrate (and to clear some space on the shelves) I’m drinking a previous purchase from the same winery!

I wish I was born into a winemaker’s family...

It’s exciting to imagine that a young boy’s 8th grade science project could turn into a world-class wine, but that’s exactly how this wine began! Many years ago Will Jarvis, son of the owners, made wine for his 8th grade science project. Because it was an experiment, Will picked only enough grapes to produce one small barrel of wine. After it was bottled and had aged ten years, Will was old enough to appreciate the wine and happily noted that its unique, fruity taste had been preserved through the years. Encouraged by his early success, Will repeated his experiment in the Jarvis winery cave environment, again using small barrels.

No you don’t, ‘cause then you’d be writing pretentious twaddle.

I may have found the cooking sherry tonight.

This little selection of yours got the highest ranking Vivino rating we’ve seen. 4.5. I’m assuming it lived up it’s reputation?

yes Wattie - I’m a big fan of Jarvis wines in general and the Science Project is lovely. As a Cabernet Franc it‘s a bit more subtle and flavourful than a full bodied fruity Cabernet Sauvignon...
