windscreen replace

i have 2 small (2mm) surface chips on the windscreen in line of sight. autoglass said they can't repair it as too small, suggested either live with it or replace.

the chips are ignoring but a replacement screen won't be original if they can't get a GS screen from Maserati.

hmmm.....

Maserati never made the screens anyway. They were Pilkington from memory

This is true. Mine failed MOT when I got it due to crack in screen, replaced for free under insurance no questions. they said it'd be a replacement but it in fact it had Maserati and the Trident all over it. And Pilkington Glass.

The GS/4200 is definitely still available from Maserati. The proper screen is branded with a small trident, where the Pilkington one has their logo instead. I know it's available as Autoglass showed up with a GS screen for my Stradale 3 times before getting it right!

You can insist on a Maserati screen and argue that the car's value would be reduced by supply of a non-original part. I use Admiral and when challenged, they backed down. I asked them to find the recording when they told me that their glass cover wasn't for original parts. They declined the search!

I know SupranoStu had a new/unused one for sale a while ago, maybe worth getting in contact with him?

seems AG were helpfully, I take it you got the wiper fixed

I just had a call from AG and I have to take the car to them ? I noticed they came to you so I'll check when they call back

Dick Lovett in Swindon replaced the screw with a vaguely suitable one, and hid the cost within a £1,000 service bill.

Yes, AG came to me, and said they would send two people, but in the end just sent one. I see that their website says "Our service is currently only available to identified key workers providing essential services in the COVID-19 pandemic response and those who need their vehicle for critical travel that is permitted by the UK Government. If you do not fall into these categories, please do not try to book at this time. "

glad they sorted it for you...

AG won't come to me, which isn't really an issue as I'll get to have a drive out... the glass better be the right one!!! i'm sure it will...

I got the screen fitted and it's OEM, even with maserati script on it... i'm happy with the service from AG.
however i noticed later on the passenage side, the glass has a 20cm circle warp in it.
AG said its normal for italian glass but will look at an option of a replacement.

hello
i have a crack in my QP windscreen, a truck was shedding stones on the motorway and they were flying around like mad
contacted AG who said yes theyll replace it with my excess of £75 but because my insurance is with privelage (who are part of direct line), they dont cover me for a genuine maserati windscreen, only a Autoglass one
im guessing it will be exactly the same apart from the trident logo

I suspect that it will be a maserati one that you get since it's unlikely that they'll have commissioned their own for such a small volume car. Just check that you don't have the special glass option which included infrared blocking windscreen as they'll fob you off with a normal not quite as rediculosly expensive replacement..
Ask me how I know.. .
