It's a real shame but they should have taken material financial backing from a big player a long time ago. Let's hope the new owners keep the name and restore it to some glory.

What price Ron Dennis? Unlikely probably - bet he'd love to take a shot at McLaren though.

Claire Williams has been a disaster.

The late show up to testing last season was a joke

No surprises here, no money to build a competitive car, uncompetitive car equals no results, no results no sponsors, no sponsors equals no money and the cycle continues.

A real shame but Frank has held on to control for too long and the sport has moved on, you have to have deep pockets to run an F1 team something Williams has never really had.

I don't think the family dynamic helped either. I do hope a buyer/sponsor can be found as Williams have been part of the F1 scene for so long and it would be a shame to lose them.

Last we’ll see of the garagistas as Enzo disparingingly called them, still whipped his butt though.

Top flight motorsport is just fully corporate now, reminded me of this story from a week or so ago.

I think its all been said , like so many other things looming on the horizon, we will be seeing very surprising changes in the months ahead , there is no old normal from now on, we have the opportunity to make some very important innovations lets hope we have the entepeneurs to grab the horns and run with them

Claire Williams is a puppet for Frank Williams - he chose her to be the team boss and not his son because Claire is easier for him to control/manipulate. What I am saying might be controversial to some here but the it's a very easy conclusion to make when you consider FW has lived at the factory since his wife died... Cannot be a healthy mental state nor a good influence for the team

The blame was firmly placed on Paddy Lowe for the fiasco with the 2019 car - not sure if they used him as a scape goat but on the drive to survive series they really vilainised PL for his part in the failure to procure all of the parts in time for testing.

It all went pear shaped when Felipe Massa decided to retire..
From then on they only had sprogs driving for them with no experience of developing a car!

What they really need is an investor with extensive motorsport and F1 experience. Toto Wolff would fit the bill ;)

It was always Franks style to never be swayed or held to ransom by his drivers , soon as they had some success rightly they wanted more money Frank would let them go, it happened to Mansell Hill and Button one after the other

I was talking to a guy from Northern Ireland last week , he saw the mustang on a shopping trip and wanted a chat , he rallies competitively , mostly escorts , he was telling me some of the costs involved , he said 30K a year is about what he spends , one rally uses 10-12 tyres at £280 a go, I asked about prize money and he laughed , last rally he came 1st in his class and 8th overall , he won £250 ,It's amazing anybody does it at all .

At oulton park none of it would run without the volunteer marshals , they used to give them a free breakfast but they've dropped that now so they get naff all , not sure how i'd feel about that watching J Palmer fly overhead in his helicopter, I mean what's the cost of 100 breakfasts to them £300

When we used to run the Alfa 155,s in the Spanish touring car championships in 90,s
Fiat would only pay for the upgraded stuff and the tyres..
It was down to the in divisional teams to do the development work!
Some of the paid drivers we had to put up with ,were shall we say were pretty dire!
