Williams Up For Sales

Stroll Snr offered/wanted to buy Williams a few years back, but the deal never happened, which as it turned out is a real shame now, as Racing Point are going to be on the up going into the new Era for sure. Close alliance with Merc, expansion of the factory and infrastructure etc, That could have been Williams I feel.
Williams was THE team when I was growing up, and its such a shame that it has got to where it is now, as the glory days are very much well in the past, but the game has moved on light years compared to then.

Did a factory tour some years back with a selection of forum guests. Not a small concern so I can see how they would burn through cash.

Bernie made it what it is. ;) like it or loathe it.
Agreed.

Bernie knew and still knows that F1 is essentially entertainment.
The glitz and glamour - monarchy, pit girls, superyachts, celebrities, people arriving by helicopter - that's all part of it.
Crashes - they don't want people hurt, but it adds to the drama
Overtaking and driving on the edge - that's what people want to see
Drama and conflict between the teams

Instead, it's becoming too much about the science, too much about safety and is getting rather dull. If a good driver in a good car gets pole, race over, its almost definite that they will win, unless they experience car failure. That's so boring.

Drive to Survive has been so popular as it brings back the drama, it's a TV show.

F1 need to get back to entertaining, before everyone stops watching.

Agreed - Drive to survive was a better watch than most of the races over the last 2 seasons that it covered
