Yes, that was part of the reset recommended by someone early on.

Couple of other things you can try.

The window control module is about £80 2nd hand but before you go down that route.

Is there another member on here local to you that you can swap the module over to test it ?

The module is a green cased plastic module held in with either a single or two phillips head screws. Right hand side of the footwell panel from memory. Take it out and you can then slide the mother board out of the module. I think its one small screw holds it in place. Give it a visual inspection for any signs of burning or corrosion. If its burnt then its a replacement. If its looks ok spray it with electrical contact cleaner and allow to dry before you put it back together.

It can be a bit of a pig to get back into place because of the way the wiring harness runs in the footwell.

#spkennyuk, thanks for your persistence with this issue.
Removed Control Module, opened casing and discovered staining and 'muck' at the bottom corner of the board around a few components and what looks like a broken track/trace (No! not the Covid track&trace...)
Tried cleaning with contact cleaner and a soft brush, which has cleaned all the cr@p away but the track/trace still looks to be damaged. Re-tried in the car but no joy.
I've ordered a PCB repair paste syringe from eBay in the vain hope I may be able to salvage the board but up to now it's looking like a replacement.
Anyone have a useable spare at reasonable cost? ;)

Where in the uk are you ?

Suprano stu in manchester will have some in stock.

You can probably bridge the broken track with a small piece of wire taped in place as a short term test. Just make sure its well stuck down on the right track.

Finally bit the bullet and replaced the Window Control Module with a replacement from Trident Spares.
Hey Presto! the windows are now under my control and Not operating with a will of their own, which is great, cos I can drive in the rain without getting wet.

We could have had one as well, but Matt & Ash found it just before returning the car - turned out to be a blocked drainage channel for the roof/boot of our Spyder - thanks guys, another job well done.
