Why would a timing belt tensioner for a Ghibli come loose?

Hi all, could anyone who knows tell me why after a belts change service a timing belt tensioner would come loose? If it's been torqued up correctly, what else has or hasn't been done for this to happen?

Is there any tip or trick unique to the Ghibli for this procedure? Any resident Ghibli experts, your advice is kindly requested!

Don't know about the threads. I didn't torque it up. Sorry I can't be more helpful!
That's where I would be looking first then as they may have been damaged in the past by over tightening as not everyone feels it's necessary to use a torque wrench I have several from 1/4 inch to 3/4.

The apprentice monkey wrench forgot to tighten it!

the tensioner has come loose - how did you identify that ?

It could have been over tightened and damaged the threads and the bolt works it way loose ??

I have found that the most common cause ofa loose tensioner is failure of the ball race, which jams and obviously unscrews the tensioner. The basic problem is that inferior quality bearings are used. Because these bearings run fast & hot you need a C3 specification bearing which is slightly loose when cold & reaches the correct running clearances when hot. Swap over the bearings & you are done. Incidentally, the C3 bearings are much the same price as the lower specification jobbies, that is dirt cheap from a bearing distributor.

I'm with you guys on this and after over 40 years of working on the tools and learnt from some of the Best from previous generations.
People who don't have the feel in their hands and overtighten everything.
Poorly manufactured parts even genuine.
The number of counterfeit parts in circulation.
Why is it that many parts can be stripped and overhauled easily that are over 50 years old.
I'm finding this exactly with my 69 Renault 16 apart from the rust which I'm cutting out everything mechanical is serviceable and can be rebuilt.
Rant over :)
