What a lot of snobbishness, does it relay matter who buys the cars as long as they are selling. I have no doubt the Levente will be an enormous success. SUV's seem to be the big growth area currently, so its entirely sensible to have one to sell.
Its a pity they couldn't have got the Alferi ready for 2017, as that would follow nicely from the launch of the Crossover next year. Certainly the GT needs to move into a higher sector and price point, or like the Jaguar XK when the F Type was launched, it will become irrelevant. To me a more luxury focused GT would seem a good move, with the Alferi becoming the new sports car.

Yep.

More Happy Days/Years ahead riding on a bottomed out, depreciation curve for the GT then.

Starting to sound like the game duke nukem forever :)
Forever being the time it took to develop and constantly breaking promises regarding the release date.

It is very frustrating, my deposit has been with them 14 months now, and info is still very sketchy.

Latest is the same most of us have been told, price around £60-70k for the V6, however I was told that there are rumours ( you have to laugh at rumours ) of the V8 at £160k as Maserati prices are no longer to be held back by Ferrari, but that doesn't sound logical to me, and as I said it's just a rumour.

Spyder to be out a year later

Base 911 now £76k. Can't see the Alfieri being any less than £80k in base spec. Also, 5 years to wait is insane and the impact will be lost. As for the deposit - very cheeky asking for a 5k when the launch date, spec and price are not known.

The GT getting bigger is insane. I suspect they will persist with the shape and refresh the platform every now and again. Wouldn't be surprised to see the 'replacement' GT with the turbo'd powertrain and the M138/9 family of engines retired.

Sadly, with the focus on the more volume oriented segments such as SUV I cannot see new major product from Maserati in the next few years. Not sure Ferrari no longer constraining prices will benefit the brand if it is churning out the same products.

Just my penny's worth

Yes, very sketchy indeed - I hope it's worth the wait for the sake of all of us and the brand

Has anyone still got a deposit down for one ? Just wondering ....

I have, since Oct 14.

I still have an order placed, but have refused to give them an interest-free loan of indeterminate time period. With absolutely no idea of launch date you'd be mad not to ask for your cash back.

Larger!? The one thing, plus lack of funds. that stops me buying a GT is its size. It is a stunning shape, but, for me, just too big. I do think they will miss the boat somewhat by delaying.

It's fine. Really. After 9 hours of ownership, I've had not issues at all ;)

Out of interest, how much deposit was needed?
Haven't a clue to be honest...£500...£5,000?!

Maranello didn't take any cash just expressions of interest . For the levante they took cash as it has a real build date. I fear we will never see the alfieri or it will have an Alfa badge

Like MAF says why give a company an interest free loan on something mythical?
If you have a spare 5k, I could do something very useful with it.

I think Meridien took a deposit from Barrie. HR Owen didn't take any cash at first, but asked me for £5k last September so I could 'have one of the first cars'. I declined as they couldn't give me a build date.

May make as much sense to put a deposit on a unicorn.

Real shame about the Alf's mythical status. I though it looked rather nice. Mind you, F-types can be had pretty cheaply now and they have the advantage of actually existing, even if they lack the emotional buzz of a Maserati.
