Where have you been in your car this week?

Up my road... down the hill and back. Cet Tout. Trying to diagnose what I suspect to be a dry and tired ARB bush.

I hope to have more exotic reports in 6 months time!

None the less.... great car!

A dry and tired bush sounds like no fun, but at least you can look forward to something more exotic by summer. Well done!

lovely looking car and very brave trip, don't think I could trust mine to go that far
I know what you mean.

I’ve spent the last 3 years getting it as sorted as I believe is possible. I can’t bear to have an unreliable car.

As well as all the usual mechanical servicing; belts, brakes, tyres, battery, etc., the fused relays have been replaced and the fuse board reworked. The underside of the car has been freshly undersealed as well.

The only thing that I was hesitant about was the ECU because I know mine has a problem that it’s running too lean and can’t be adjusted. The screw doesn’t do anything when turned. I was worried that it could cut out on overrun but it didn’t miss a beat once. Scouring for a decent replacement now.

Lovely part of the world to drive in. Let us know which route you chose. I’ll be heading to Wiltshire tomorrow in my QPV. Will get up early and take the Salisbury Plain route.

I can’t bear to have an unreliable car.

I know the feeling, not had mine long but planning to get a few things done in particular a large core alloy radiator with updated fans that draw less current, not that it overheats but just to improve things and I like to tinker/improve anyway, have you thought about changing to the star wheels, changed mine and looks a whole lot more sporty

.

Looking at doing all fuses etc with mine. What did you do with the board? I am told it is the weak point as it was not designed for Maserati and the extras like Windows and air con overload it. That might not be true but it was what I was told.
Car looking great and well done using at this time of the year. Wouldn't dream of using mine here in winter with all the salt on the roads.

All I have done with the fuse board is remake the connections to it and clean up all the contact faces. TBH the fused relays seemed to be the weakest point.

All the important things still work - including the heating and windows, but I will sort out the radio cassette player and speakers this year. I managed to pick up a NOS heater control blister panel a while back for when the current one packs up.

Guisborough to pick up then
Esk valley route to Whitby via beautiful villages like Danby, Lealholm and Ruswarp etc.
very picturesque and some twisty roads for the QP to negotiate stop off for dinner and a pint (only one)
Excellent
