When fitting Larini Sport Cats and X pipe are there any other parts one might require?

Would you recommend both options (Cats and x pipe) for a occasional weekend only car? What is it like when in normal mode (non race or with valves closed)? is it tame enough?

I have Larini sport cats and x-pipe, with stock mufflers, and it sounds incredible. No complaints from the neighbors, though definitely a bit louder than stock. At the track, the roar is magnificent!

I think you should try with the cats first and see what you think and increase the noise levels in stages if you need more. I have just put Larini cats on my Strad and it sounds perfect to my ears. It’s the first time I have had a car where I like the sound throughout the entire rev range. I also have an x pipe on a regular GTS and it doesn’t sound nearly as good. The x can be a bit OTT and just where you want it to be sonorous it can sound slightly harsh. The sports cats retain and amplify the stock tone and overall GT sound. Good luck either way, it will be a fun journey

I have the same set-up as ChrisB (a Strad with sports cats but otherwise standard). Really quite loud when in Race mode, but sufficiently civilised in normal mode. Try this first, and then add an X later if you feel the need.

There was one guy here in NL that put straight pipes on his 2011 stradale instead of a xpipe. I'm not sure it was a good thing as it was quite loud. I think his instagram is @white_stradale. You can find some soundclips there.

Been chatting to him on instagram. Hes actually used the x pipe from the standard unit, deleted the resonator and replaced it with straight pipes. So strictly speaking hes running a non resonated x pipe. Cats are standard Thanks for the contact.

Weird, i remember seeing a picture of straight pipes instead of a X. I offered him my larini x pipe to test the sound but he was pretty direct in that het didnt want the x-pipe since it changed the sound too much. But maybe he realised it was the better option :)

He sent me a picture of the underneath and it has 2 straights pipes in place of the resonator, but there was an old rusty looking x-pipe. So i guessed that he had chopped the X off the old system and simply welded 2.5 inch tubes instead of where the box was. I said as much to him and he gave me a thumbs up..!

So after much consultation with members on this site, You tube and Larini themselves - decided to go with the sports CATS and the X-pipe. Buying today saved me 10% so roughly £250 saved. Seemed silly not to and then end up spending the extra 10% later. David at Larini was pretty helpful and complimented some of the advise ive had from others on here. "X is a must and the cats are very nice to help throttle responsiveness while giving that extra volume/tone..." He also said their rear system isnt worth considering if you have the Stradale as the standard back boxes are pretty good anyway. Thanks all. Cant wait. :)

Technical question guys. I'm looking at the gaskets for the manifold / CAT flanges. They are part number 189211. This is the same part number for both Ferrari and Maserati, but they are slightly different in prices though (on the same websites - Scuderia, eurospares etc). Are these the same? the Ferrari ones are cheaper than Maserati for the same part number.. i have 2 of the Ferrari ones. The gaskets have an I/D of 3 &1/4"

Whats the opening port size of the Manifold/CAT interface?

I ordered Ferrari thinking they would be the same as the p/n is identical - 198211.

If the part number is the same the part will be the same. At least it is on everything else where there is a part number crossover.

Just make sure the part numbers are the same, because the ones you've written aren't.....
