When fitting Larini Sport Cats and X pipe are there any other parts one might require?

Not used his x pipe as I already had an Autoshield version but he did the work on my qp boxes in the videos. You would never know he had been inside them and they came back looking like new. You won't have any worries if you buy from him.

If you a fitting x and cats it will be very loud so you may want to try the cheaper x pipe first.
Good feedback. He did mention work he did on OP back boxes.
I also thought about sequenci g the cats and x pipe, but am.kinda thinkjng once o n the ramp its there and ready vs a second ttip later on. Was almost thininkjng cats before x pipe though

you might want to get some toothpaste as the whole world will see you grin whenever you drive the car.
Ive only seen videos with the cats and x pipe installed and it sounds savage.. i love it. My car is an occasional driver. 1500 miles a year. Sort of thinking i want both, not just an x pipe. But im not 100%. Videos make me want both tbh because i tjink x pipe alone sounds raspy and the cats almost takes away that tinny rasp. From what ive heard on vids.. hence why i like the full flowing sound.

Have you any experience in the flesh? Im interested anx if you have a view of cats before x pipe or vice versa. Or all in one gone whil car is on the ramp.. ?

On mine, the x pipe seems to me to just make it a bit more throaty. I have been told off by a mates neighbour for waking up her kids (at 9.30 at night). The cats and x-pipe is pretty loud, especially at start up and no-one miss you driving past with the valves open.

I am also considering X or H pipe on my Stradale. I had X pipe on the previous MC Sport, which sounded great but would like something more refined. Any advice?

IM sure there are folk on here that know by trial and error between the two, but everything ive read on the two options (for GTs and other cars) point to a much more "burbling" affect from the H pipe because it does not scavenge across the two exhaust banks (like an x pipe converges the two exhaust flows) and equalises the smoothness of the gas flow. It would appear that the H pipe would be moving away from the classic GT sound more than an x pipe will amplify/alter slightly that same tone we all love. X is also slightly better on the power gains - marginally by all accounts (on all cars). Been studying lots in last few days and watching videos as comparisons. Im not even considering a H pipe after my research.

H pipe is, to me anyway, a dirtier sound. The X-pipe is probably the most “refined” option.
I have an H and it’s very different to an X, deeper is how I would describe it, some might say it loses a little of the Maserati rasp.
Another difference I have found from the X I had fitted is that it’s much louder, and in the Stad you really hear the valves open automatically over about 4000rpm, never noticed that is standard or X pipe for at.

You must have had a duff x pipe or ears. Always hear mine open at 3500. Which is not that often as it is always in race.

Would you recommend both options (Cats and x pipe) for a occasional weekend only car? What is it like when in normal mode (non race or with valves closed)? is it tame enough?

The X came for a reputable source so am sure was fine, I do officially have duff ears though, so you may be onto something there.

i had an x-pipe and sportcats and valved exhausts. I now have stock x-pipe back on. If im in 2nd/3rd and let off the gas above 3k rpm i get pops and bangs and burples all the way down to the automatic downshift. But with the x-pipe it just was too loud. Still might try a custom h-pipe with longer resonators (comparable with larini h, but half the price for a custom job).

Also since it is a 4.2, with valves open there is quite the drone. This is only amplified with sportcats and/or x-pipe.

You need to hear Conaeros strad with cats then. Having driven it, it is *** deafening with valves open and windows down.
And also following anywhere closer than 1/4 mile behind.

PS - but it's still auditory magnificence. A fabulous orgasm for your ears.
