When did the GT S become a Sport?

Not sure those picture annotations are quite right. But I could be wrong!

As far as I can tell, what you have listed as a 2014 Sport facelift is what came out in late 2012. And what you have listed as a 2012 GT-S facelift is the same as the car you've shown as 2009 GT-S pre-facelift (both these pictures show pre-face lift cars). The three basic phases are 2007-2012 for the original face, 2012 - 2016 for the second, then 2016 onwards for the third face.

I'm very happy to be corrected though.

Good point. Though it is an auto, not an MC-Shift (which would be my preferred gearbox option). I've just sent him a PM though, so we can go from there.
Marvellous! I believe the sport has the same super fast mc shift gear changes whilst still having smoother when not in sport etc etc, and no clutch issues. Open to corrections. It sounded good when I put my 4.2 with Larini next to it though

That's weird as in the brochure it wasn't an option. The face lift GTS was call Granturismo Sport...In fact there was never a Granturismo GTS as when the 4.7 came out it was just called Gramturismo S....It was people like us that just shorten it to GTS.....Maserati just changed the name to identify the facelift was a new model by just adding Sport instead of just S.

This is from the Geneva motor show 2012..

Revealed at the Geneva motor show earlier this year, the Maserati GranTurismo Sport is the replacement for the GranTurismo S - the model which arguably best embodied its deluxe brand of ...

The Sport pack was on the price lists in 2011/12 but the brochures probably pre-date this so won’t mention it and they did not reprint for the short production run.

You are right on names - on the passenger side of my dash it says ‘Granturismo S’. Just like it used to say ‘Coupe GT’ or ‘Coupe CC’ in the same place of the previous model but we all call it the 4200!

I’m led to believe that the bit underlined also applies to any 2012MY car with the Sport pack..... although they are rather rare, especially in a nice blu! #justsaying;)
