Just wanted to say a huge thanks to Wheels in Motion. Took my GS down there this morning, and they had a look over it, and did a full adjustment, and the car feels a lot more planted now, and some more feedback to the steering has also been added, which is always helpful. Total cost was £198, so not cheap, but cheaper than a set of new tyres, and well worth the cost. They are in Chesham, which is an hour away from me, so not exactly local, but well worth the drive, and the need to now wash the car.
They look after a lot of exotic stuff, and are the go to guys for people like DK Engineering, so come highly recommended.

completely agree with the above, my experience with them as well. I'm happy to travel up from London a few times of year to have them reset everything

Why does your car need a realignment "a few times a year"? I think in 40 years of owning cars I have only had alignments maybe 2 or 3 times!

Wont charge you anything for going to check it out, so no harm really. Suppose it depends how much you drive, and the condition of the roads

I've used these guys for years and am lucky to live 15 minutes away. Tony Bones is the owner and one of the foremost authorities on wheel alignment, steering/suspension geometry and chassis dynamics. People come from great distances to avail themselves of Tony's knowledge. Every car I have taken to him he has transformed, from SUVs to supercars. I try to take them all annually to him for a check and adjustment if necessary. It's way cheaper than a pair of tyres on any of my cars.

Just out of curiosity, Mark. How often do they need adjusting? I'd not be at all surprised if every time you went in, the settings were out?

It depends on how you drive them and how often. The GS moved very little after the first transformation a few years ago and always had full alignment after new tyres. I haven't done loads of miles in recent years. The Range Rover is my daily and gets the most abuse, sees the most potholes etc and therefore enjoys regular new suspension components which need dialling in. The Bentley has just had 4 new tyres fitted (Michelins as I hate Pirellis with a vengeance) and needed one slight adjustment to the camber on one side. Tony mentioned how Bentley designed a proper set up for the Supersports to make it handle like a sports car - it certainly belies its weight, but the 760bhp and 996nm appear to take care of that!
My method is to always take less-used cars after tyres, suspension etc and if I've knowingly hit a pothole etc. My dailies will always go once a year, but that can easily coincide with tyres/servicing on a big SUV that is treated like a truck.

Another recommendation here for Wheels In Motion. I've used them for the GS and the family run around. No brainer for me as I'm even closer than Mark - 5 mins walk - so all here welcome to PM me with expectations of a cuppa while you wait!

Have to agree - I used them and I could really feel the difference after they had worked their magic

I've used them too - for all my vehicles. I took the QP there straight from picking it up when I bought it as there was signs of inside edges wearing on both front and rears. Also gave an indication of the condition of the bushes relative to wear and adjustment left. Mine definitely needed tweaking. Recommended too :thumb3:

Well you should do it more often then, unless you don’t drive your cars ! It doesn’t take a lot of speed humps, potholes and generally terrible conditions of roads to throw things out a bit, and given how sensitive these cars are to set up it makes a difference

One of the most common ways of knocking your wheels out of alignment is done by people driving over chamfered speed humps centrally as they can do it without losing speed and there is less of a jolt in their suspension! I always slow right down and drive over with just one side of the car or driving over 2 sets if possible (in both lanes) hardly anybody seems to know this!! The amount of times I have been doing this and some 'Numpty' comes racing up behind me (sailing over the centers and splaying the geometry of their wheels) and look at me as if 'I' am the 'Stupid TW!T' really fcuks me off............But they are the ones fcuking their cars, not me!!

Me too ..also aside from the rough edges shredding the inside tyre walls - I daren't straddle them in case I leave a bit of the underneath behind ..they're not all the same height once they start wearing around the edges. There's one placed in the middle of a chicane near where I live (nr Chesterton if anyone knows it) - you can't NOT straddle it and both the edges are sha*%3d.

It's not from Wheels in Motion, but this is my before and after taken last week. The car drive well enough. Pulled a bit, floaty at speed, but overall seemed ok. Now, well, transformed. So, whether you go to WiM or elsewhere (WiM is indeed excellent, just too far for me), I would highly recommend getting things checked.

WIM did a fantastic job with my Stradale and it felt great afterwards. I would always go back and recommend them wholeheartedly. Tony takes the science of the geo very seriously and I learnt so much from him, most of which I have forgotten of course, but I will get a refresher course the next time I visit

Not hugely out, but the steering was off centre, and the car certainly feels alot better not than it did. Having also recently had new tyres fitted, thought it best to get them checked before prematurely wearing them out.
