Wow, I did not see that coming!
You seem to have spent your ownership fixing it all up (great thread read) , without seemingly much of a chance to enjoy it.
Are you just fed up/over it?

I absolutely love it and I do use it regularly, but it was supposed to replace the GTA and I can't convince myself to sell the GTA for sentimental reasons, as much as anything else. I have 3 cars but only 2 insurance policies, so 1 needs to go.

In addition, I work within the Public Sector. After 10 years of Austerity and a 20% pay cut, with only further government cuts on the horizon, the Maser has the potential to cause financial havoc for me.

I'm more than a bit p****d off about it TBH.

I'm sure the car hates me.

With the MOT running out at the end of the month, I thought I'd put a fresh one on it before listing it, and as I started it up the ABS/MSP/suspension lights stayed on. I ran it out to the local garage for a prod with an OBD kit revealed as I thought, 'persistant fault withe speed sensor'. HTF a wheel sensor can break sat in the garage for a fortnight I have no idea.

The thing is, once it had warmed up, I'd dived back in after it started to roll gently backwards across the fuel forecourt as I've spent the last 7 month in a car with an automatic handbrake, and shoved a couple of gallon of Super in it, I really enjoyed driving it again. Certainly much more so than taking the wife's Z4M out.

So, I'm listing it as is, for quite a low price. If nobody takes me up I'll run it up to Autoshield at the end of the month and get the work needed for an MOT, and then probably end up keeping it again

Now if only I could find the draft advert I started....

I was told the 2 happiest days of Maserati ownership are the day you buy it and the day you sell it. Actually I think it is supposed to be about boats, but I'm not daft enough to buy one of those.

However it isn't true, having heard the GS disappear very slowly down the potholed track that passed as a lane a couple of weeks ago, I was actually sad to see it go. That sadnees is slightly offset by the improvement in finances, not so much the money we got for the car, but the fact that the £1500 or so I'd budgeted for the service/repair/MOT/tax is now destined to go on some nice cordless battery powered garden tools and a new chainsaw. Considering the size o the new garden and the motorbike I got the other week, I suspect they'll see a lot more use than the Maser.

I was also pleasantly surprised that even after deductions for time on cover, admin fee for cancellation, loss fo multicar discount on the other vehicle, and the surcharge for phoning after 6pm on a Wednesday, Admiral refunded me £35.

I was going to have a shuffle, move the Z4M to the other side of the garage, bring the lawn tractor in from the shed that is secured by an old lump of concrete holding the door shut, and move the motorbike from it's home wedged between the recycling bins, but instead I found myself on PH looking at the prices of Ghiblis.

They do get under your skin, these things.

Anyway, hope the new owner gets home safe and sound and all goes well with the old dear. I told my wife it had gone. She's working away this week, which is happen as well as judging from her reaction I'd probably be sleeping in the space the car has just vacated tonight.

Congrats on the sale. Hopefully miles of smiles for the new owner.

If it helps, I work in the private sector and have suffered the same cut over the past 7 years even before you consider the inflationary pressure which leaves me with even less. I leave my job Friday partly because I am so fed up with the situation.

The reality is lots of people, both in the public and private sector, have suffered financially for a decade under the guise of austerity, despite the evidence showing it has minimal effect on balancing the books as claimed, and no doubt after this past year's spending spree that will continue for another decade.
