What you drinking now?

I hate to say it but it is very very dark brown which indicates poor storage at some point. Also, the level is not great albeit not too disastrous.
Just for reference, I dealt with these wines at Christie’s for 20 years so have some experience with d’Yquem.
I would definitely sell it if you can get a decent price. It’s rare - so somebody will want it.
Then you can spend the money on a case of something far more drinkable.
That’s my advice.

View attachment 106106View attachment 106106Not drinking it now (so possibly wrong thread) but I have had this for 30+ years. Should I:

1). Keep it?
2). Sell it?
3). Drive to Chateau d’Yquem, get it tasted and re-corked, then keep it?
4). As above, then sell it?
5). Drink it?
6). Put in the GTS?

After a great deal of deliberation (and having read Bebs expert piece/viewed the photo along with some in depth research on Vivino, Dan Murphy’s and Aldi’s current range) I’ll give you 950247 SHIBA INU……

About $10…in todays money but next year it could be worth about $60,000,0000. I know you can see the potential in this so think of my offer and remember the bloke that accepted 10000 bitcoin for a pizza!

Investment return versus “vinegar.”
Imagine being the bloke that turned it down and the constant mental torment that would haunt you…..forever…..and ever and ever ad infinitum.

You can cover the shipping.

Besides,I’d hate you to injure yourself thru consumption and therefore donate my immune system (actually it’ll be Kels as I’ll keep her in the dark and pour hers first) in search of the answer….

;)

I’ve got two cigar smoking, whisky & port drinking petrolhead friends (Diablo VT & 599) coming round at lunchtime for 24 hours of man time (have sent wife away)
Will start with champagne, then a decent Sauternes with foie gras, then the 30 year old tawny. Later, for dinner (wife has pre-made ready to go in the oven) will open the magnum of red, might follow will a Colheita port before attacking the cigar whisky. Obviously most of the day will be peppered with smoking.
It’s going to be a long Friday
(Apologies in advance if I post too many pics)

I don't think you can go wrong with a Dalmore. I think the sweet spot is the 15 though.

I was introduced to Dalmore by the sommelier at the Witchery in Edinburgh (great restaurant if you're in the vicinity by the way) who said that the 15 was far superior to even the really expensive whiskeys that Dalmore do.

He was Scotlands sommelier of the year the year before we visited so I will bow to his far superior knowledge. And agree with it.

Thanks for the recommendation. I’m actually not much of a whisky drinker preferring the sweetness of Bourbons. But I can cope with the smooth Dalmore cigar malt or JW blue label.
My worry is, if I start on the whisky journey I’ll inevitably build up a collection and I really don’t want to go down that road.

You will. I've got about 20 bottles. Not really a collection though as I keep drinking it!
