Just had one of the best meals accompanied by the new to me young wines from around Verduno. All the skills and climate advantages of the Langhe region without the often over oaked heaviness of the Barolo offerings. Absolutely superb. The food, chef and sommelier were outstanding. You can’t get this quality for any price in the lakes.

For anyone feeling hot, here’s some good news. Picked up this fizzy organic red in Italy - Bonarda. Very refreshing.

Looking beyond it you might see clouds approaching and as I type this, there’s a cool wind coming off the sea. I think thunderstorms might get here sooner than Monday morning…
