I’m no lager connoisseur (I’ve been known to drink em with lime/lemonade tops/shandy and with ice) so they’re fine to me…they taste of lager! How do they taste?? I might could maybe think about that...

So I’m in Dans today and I ask the girl where the no alcohol lagers are….she shows me. Typically they’re $9 for 6. “Hang on she says I’ve got something you might be interested in. Walks away and comes back with a case of Great Northern “zero”.
“We’re literally giving them away” she says. “No one wants them -24 for $8!!!”
“How many have u got”I asked.
“5 cases”
I took the lot. 120 beers (alcohol free) for $40….£23!!!

This is a light organic wine at 12.5% and I found it in Fishguard Co-Op.Finished a job a day early, gave the team the day off tomorrow and feel like Santa.
Opening this cooking wine - not to cook with, but to drink while cooking and listening to The Clash on 6music.
It comes from Ascoli Piceno where we took the Ghibli on our honeymoon back in 2005. Happy Days.
JMB taught me everything I know. I was his right hand man at Christie’s for many years. Travelled extensively with him and spent many weekends at his country house rewriting, tasting and organising tasting notes for his Great Vintage Wine Book, edition II.This is a light organic wine at 12.5% and I found it in Fishguard Co-Op.
Before kids I was devouring wine and wine knowledge. Subscribing to Decanter I always headed for Michael Broadbent MW’s opinion piece and remember him bemoaning the ever increasing alcohol levels. He was often searching around the 9% mark and found the fashionable blockbusters at 13-14% undrinkable. How times and climates have changed.
Did he really have Champagne with breakfast? Every day?JMB taught me everything I know. I was his right hand man at Christie’s for many years. Happy memories. RIP Michael.
