Not sure if I posted this before, back to my Irish roots, now anyone who things the Irish are thick should try the Uilleann Pipes, you have to squeeze a bag, pump a bellows, play a chanter, press regulators with your wrist and use the popping strap for the extra notes...

My sister is a *MAJOR* Spingsteen fan. Like nearly 10 gigs a year. Crazy. I quite like "I'm on fire" and "Glory Days" is a great track, but the rest? Meh, I'm afraid.

The River, Thunder Road, Candy's Room, Jungleland, Mary Queen of Arkansas, Blinded by the Light, Growin' Up, classics in anyone's book and I'm not much of a Springsteen fan...

Nope, sorry :( . De gustibus non est disputandum ;)

Oh, and Blinded By The Light? My all time favourite song, ever, mate. But NOT Springsteen :)

Still remember going to watch Rattle & Hum at the cinema. Filmed whilst on the Joshua tour.
The Sunday Bloody Sunday / Enniskillen segment still makes the hairs stand up.

What he can do Catman imho is put a great story into a song, on the life version of The River (75-85) he gives the talk-in intro where he describes growing up as a teenager enjoying life but the dark cloud of the draft lottery to Vietnam hanging over them.

Absolutely wouldn't argue with you. He's just not for me. :)

Absolutely spot on. Stories which huge numbers identify with - particularly the US heartlands.
Possibly more so the introspective style rather than his rip-rousing rock repertoire.
This, for example, written during the breakdown of his marriage. Pure class.
