Think I read where Carrack was the only artist (at the time) to have a solo #1 and #1s with multiple bands (Ace, Mike & the Mechanics)...

Today I shall be listening to Iron Maiden but only the first two LP’s before Bruce Dickinson joined them. While Number of the Beast the third LP took them to great heights it is the 2nd LP Killers that I play more than the others. The first two also have a rawness to them that the others didn’t have and you can sense they absolute want it..

First song is Prowler from the first LP. This LP shaped my musical direction and the first time I heard the opening riff you could feel this was something special.

It seems like just a few years ago when these and Def Leppard were young upstarts and I would argue with my girlfriend that they weren't a patch on Free and Bad Company, suddenly we're in our 60s.
Not so young anymore.
