What projects to do on the car whilst isolating?

It seems strange that although I am an early retiree I suddenly seem to have more time to do things. It could be because I am one of those with underlying health issues so I have been virtually under house arrest (wife's orders) for the last 2 weeks.

Maserati - Was in the middle of winter jobs anyway which included fitting new handbrake cable, coolant temp sensor and radiator fan resistor change and 2 yearly underbody wax
67489
Decided to strip it down a bit more to check and deal with other issues.
Secondary air system small bore pipe to change as badly corroded.
67488
Removed front bumper to check state of mounting bracket. Ends corroded so new sections fabricated.
67487
All wheel arch liners removed to check on rustproofing done 2 years ago. Also sill covers removed. Lots of Dinitrol sprayed into any available orifice.
Now needs putting back together.
Maybe time to change the heater matrix?? I have a new one sat in the garage ready to fit.
Learn how to detail it.

Alfa 75 - Remove entire dashboard again!! to extract heater so I can repair the failed temp control cable otherwise I will have to drive around with full heat during this summer - That's assuming I'm allowed out on the roads.
Fit a relay into the starter circuit to protect the ignition switch as I only have 1 spare left.
Investigate a slight harshness coming through the body. New engine & gearbox mounts are available from my spares stock!!

Junior Zagato - Fit a pair of relays and associated wiring to protect the valuable switch for the rear hatch motor. Also maybe one on the starter circuit as well.
Fit new door cards that have been sat around the house since Christmas.

Grande Punto - Clean it for my wife.

147 - Remove and repaint rear roof spoiler as lacquer has peeled.
Restore the alloys as previous owner obviously parked by feeling the kerbs.

Sometimes I get carried away.
Decided the Zagato needed a tidy up at the end of 2018.
Luckily I have retired.

The list was adding up anyway. So can take some time to do the major service and other bits.

  • Get new 200 cell cats installed
  • Get exhaust rattle fixed
  • Install ss brake lines
  • Replace all fluids (oil, coolant, brake, power steering)
  • Replace belts and filters
  • Fix dash clock
  • Clean and recondition all leather
  • Remove, clean and coat the front grille and air intake
  • Paint front bumper grille inserts and add new attachment brackets
  • Clean and repaint upgraded brake calipers
  • Put summer wheels back on
  • MOT
  • Fix passenger side door handle
  • Do some other minor fixes

I tore a piece of the faux leather on the dashboard while removing the center dash. There is also some wear on other leather parts, so if i ever get bored i will pull the panels and get that fixed.

So in a few week time she will be ready when all is good again in the world.

That was its original colour.
Someone changed it to black then a Dutch guy (it's originally from Holland) had it restored and repainted red a number of years ago and he moved to the UK.

Thought I’d get in with my spare brake calipers, more paint required to get a deeper red, decals here and fresh seals on hand ready to go in.

Just a small job, but the GT dead pedals ordered by stindig for 10 of us are being posted out this W/E so will be fitting to my GC when it arrives. Will post photo once installed.
