Hi guys

New wheels are on and more importantly new tyres!

I live near a series of fast B roads and was always really disappointed with how poor the handling was, very skittish and all over the place really.

The car has been on 19s with Pzero Asymmetrics all round.

Today ive put the 20s on with Bridgestones on the rear and Conti Sport contact 6s on the front. All i can say is its a totally different car

No more tramlining ornthrowing me off course at the slightest change in camber. Now it is a truly fast GT car which actually handles!

Dont know if you guys have experienced the same thing with Pirellis but I shall never go back to them!

Love the way how the arches are now filled more nicely. Will get some better pics in the morning

Cheers

Simon

None of us like the Pirellis (they need heat) but getting the wheel geometry alignment sorted helps massively without resorting to new wheels.
Does that involve the standard set up or do you guys run a specific fast road set up with more neg camber etc

Dunno ask Ashley of SportsItalia. I had the car 6 months and he did the 2 year service, two fronts and an alignment later, he gave it back to me sorted.
I found myself 'enjoying' the A25 a bit much coming home from work one night. I got home earlier than usual.

You should have taken it for a proper run, just to be sure it really was better.

Trust me I did, before it was a case of learning the car after the 4200, it got done and it was far far better. The GT is big but after it felt smaller like the 42, simply because it was sorted.

I noticed a huge improvement changing to Michelin in the 4200 , driving to costco on the motorway it was all over the place , coming back a totally different car
You really wouldn't think new tyres would make that much difference

Similar story running standard 20" wheels on my sport GT. Better tyres keep the rear in line. So does proper alignment.
Replaced a worn rear set of p-zero with Michelin PS4S and it is like a new car. The tramlining has almost gone. They were particularly bad though. Had p-zeros before and handling was okay.
