What a load of shite

I think the V6 Nettuno looks like a brilliant buy but I don't get the benefits of the electric version. 280 miles of range and, in reality, a lot less if you use the performance and/or follow the 20%/80% charging regime recommended for electric cars. Add in the half ton weight penalty over the V6 and the fact that it will probably not manage the sort of rural Scottish runs that I can do in a day then I don't get it. Autocar claim it is a competitor to the Taycan which I just don't see other than being a possible 'purchase' for low BIK options. I fully accept the move to electrification but once solid state batteries come out these early premium BEVs (Taycan included) are going to date very quickly.

I may need to refer you to the mods for being delusional. I'm surprised that you have not referenced that for the price difference between V6 and BEV versions you could buy a boot load of gold. Well only a small boot like you get on the BEV version.
No need, I knew that with subtle initial wording that someone else would point out that “gold” benefit.
Thank u. Advertising budget saved.

Hold on am I missing something. Nearly £200k !!!! Isn’t an MC20 list price cheaper or around that figure. I know which one I would prefer. The V6 should be about 135/140k and the electric 150/160k max don’t you think. Maserati chancing their arm on that £200k price surely.

Around 200k to start with, spec and MC20 with Carbon and it soon hits 250k!

Even so, as you say, specing a Foghorn (ironic) with carbon will probably get you to 250k as well.

I reckon that the GT V6 will be a great buy in a couple of years when used ones with 10k ish miles hit the market. I just hope they sell in some volume to create the opportunity - it will be hard for folk to pass up on a nearly new Roma or GTC Lusso so this could be a small second-hand market.

The talk appears to be £150k approx for the lower powered V6 GT, £175k approx for the higher powered V6 version, and then £195k approx for the electric one (which has the most power of all). All plus extras. Some may prefer the electric one (given the lower running costs, quieter ride, greater performance, convenience of at-home charging, etc), and some may not. At least there's a choice. And being a 4-seat daily car, rather than a 2 seat super-car, it's not viewed as a competitor to the MC20.

Anyway, it's nice to see Maserati lead the way in high-end luxurious electric road cars. There's nothing comparable yet from the likes of Ferrari, Aston, Bentley etc, and it's not often we can say that Maserati got to a market segment first!

This is what we need though if it’s going all EV. Reading the reviews this is possibly only the 2nd or 3rd exciting EV. I’ve not been in those (e-tron Taycan) but the rest are duller than Mary Whitehouse’s p@rn collection. A Tesla model S may do 0-60 in 3 secs but our 3 cylinder Peugeot is more exciting.

I'd have one. But I'd have to be rich and already have a mc20 in the garage. Neither of which appear to be happening soon.
They'll sell some, I'm sure.

Didn’t Porsche lead the way…………about 2.5 years ago?
“Taycan” play that game - Maserati definitely weren’t leading!

Arguably. But I put the Taycan in the same bracket at the Audi E-Tron GT and high-spec Jag I-Pace. With the Maserati being at least £50k more and having a greater air of exclusivity, it currently sits alone in that more exotic sector.

I just watched Harry Metcalfes review of the Audi e-tron, which I can’t imagine being worse than the Maserati for charging/range ect.

He stopped off somewhere and charged it with a regular 13 AMP plug.
Charged for 3 hours and added.. Wait for it…

14 miles!!! 14 miles in 3 hours!!

Absolute bloody insanity, how in g0ds name will we adapt to electric cars I have no idea..

I can’t imagine anyone does this, unless in a dire but non-time-critical emergency! The reality is that you charge it at a charging point, be that at home or somewhere out-and-about.

At home (i.e. using a standard domestic charger) our E-Tron charges fully from flat in something like 7 hours. Given that we use this car everyday, and it does the most miles of all our cars, this means charging overnight about twice a week. Which is considerably more convenient than going to a garage (for which we have to go out of our way, as there is not one in our village, our local town, on my way to work, or on the school run). So, it’s a big thumbs-up for the E-Tron from us.
