What a joke the Maserati warranty is

So.. another issue with JCT.
Car is less than 2 years old and bought by me from an authorised Maserati dealer (Marshall Peterborough) as an ex demonstrator.
I noticed a few months later that the front passenger door inside handle doesn't match the other 3.
When booking it in for 24k mile service at JCT they have informed me because this wasn't picked up at pdi nor when I bought it it won't be covered under warranty. This is despite no warranty work being carried out on that door at all.
If ever there was a case of manufacturing error then this is it. Needless to say I've contacted Maserati Italy for comment

Not withstanding the warranty, the dealer who sold the car should be sorting that for you.

They aren't a Maserati dealer anymore. And I thought the whole point of the dealer network was so.you could.get work done anywhere.
The gps also didn't work and that's been fixed by JCT no probs

I am not saying the warranty shouldn’t have covered it (it should) but the delayer who sold you the car should sort it anyway, it’s called customer service ;)

The problem is at 2 years old, a previous owner could have damaged it and replaced it with a different type, on the cheap, who knows?

The only owners of the car were a franchised maserati dealer and myself.

This is not the first time we have heard this about Maserati/dealer warranties.

At the end of the day it's not too much to expect a 75k car has 4 matching door handles. It's only been owned by a Maserati main dealer and me... and they know it hasn't previously had a warranty job on that door.
It's a farce.

My experience of customer service (based in Italy) was pretty good last year when I had an issue. I think when they take a look at the facts, it would appear to be a manufacturing issue, they will look favourably on a replacement.

Lord help you if you even drive past a race track... that voids the warranty too... despite them running their own track day tuition.

They can't use their normal 3 excuses not to carry out warranty work in this case..
  1. We can't detect an issue
  2. Its wear and tear sir
  3. Its your driving / abuse that has caused it

So they have come up with another one

Still remember MrMicks Ghibli steering debacle.

Steering failed at a track day in Llandow and they refused to pay as they found out about the tracking.

Cost him £k’s

The Maserati warranty of old was bang on, now they just wriggle out of everything.

Mine is coming to the end of its 4th year warranty (later this year) and there is no way that I am renewing having heard the horror stories about Maserati warranties. And no way is my car ever going back to a main dealer
