Yes, thats what this vote is all about. It can be done for £3k or so, but members are a bit unsure if its a good idea or not. Hopefully this vote might determine the way to go.

Remmeber the first pick of the GS with these lights back in 2007...I believe the conversion was a lot more than that back then....3k bargain Matt...

Andy, £3k in the real wold is easily achievable. This is based upon using salvage parts and not new light clusters. All the bits you can have for easily £1500, I managed to find a the bits for more like £1k.

Agree, if you take it to Maserati and have new part, you can double that figure, but we are not silly on here now are we.

I love the boomerangs, but my 4200 didn't come with them as standard and I would not change the look of the car that much. For me, it would devalue the car. When it comes to mods, I only would have things which can be bolted on and off with the original parts e.g.
- Exhausts
- Alloys
- Badges (not bolted of course, but you know what I mean!)

The conversion would need cutting, grinding and welding - just thinking about it makes me break in to a cold sweat...

Yup it would be a one-way permanent mod - the rear quarters would need to be cut and filled, and also the boot lid. However it does look gorgeous.

If you did this, I reckon what you're effectively doing is reducing the size of the market (that might buy the car in the future) but not necessarily the price the right buyer would pay. For instance, i reckon a. n. other dealer would offer next to nothing on a part ex. and trade in options would be limited. On the other hand if you resigned yourself to selling it privately, accepted you'd lose the money you spent on the convo, and that you might have to wait for a knowledgible buyer (like those salivating here), I think you'd get one. After all, you only have one unique product to sell, and that requires a market size of precisely 1!....

If I knew it would look "spot on" I'd get it done I reckon - I'm not a fan of radically changing the external appearance of something as beautiful as a masser, save a few tweaks - but the way i see it you're simply splicing the most attractive Masser DNA! I think my fear would be it looking botched - High stakes and no way back! :conf4:

Agee Simon, I sure that if it's done by a professional then it will look ok, but I would always be concerned it would looked botched to.

I defy any 4200 GS owner to not have the ultimate of grins once the conversion was completed , its all about research and homework as to the quality of the work to enable a good conversion , lets face it, once converted most 3200 owners would be jealous as **** , those boomerangs and mega reliability makes sense to me

regards loz

First time I'm hoping to be rear-ended... that would mean someone else could pay to get it sorted for me :)
