Wet Floor Liners (US Drivers side / LH)

Curious on if anyone has seen this before / While washing my 14 GTS I noticed the drivers side floor mats were wet. I opened the compartment under the floor mats (suspension and TPMS ecu area) and noticed more water. Haven’t had any electrical issues but curious on where the water is coming from. Are there any AC ducts, intake vents, drains, etc in this area. Plan to pull the floor-liner apart tomorrow to see if I can locate the source.

Follow Up**

I was able to dig around a bit more and pull the majority of the floor liner up. I exposed the suspension and tire pressure computers (thankfully not drenched in water). The wire harnesses and sponges in the cavity were soaked, so leaving these overnight to dry out. The fluid is not coolant and it doesn’t look like the door seals are the problem (no sun roof).

I soaked the car down and poured about a gallon of water down the drains under the wipers. Good news here is that I didn’t see any water entering the space that I pulled up. I am thinking that it’s a intake vent, or drain line in that area. Anyone familiar with the routings of these drain lines or any ideas what could be causing this?

Looks like you have cheked the risk areas already... Have you checked to see if the pollen filter housing is clear?

SportsItalia discovered I had a blocked drainage pipe for the gutter that runs along the bottom of the roof on my 4200 Spyder, hence loads of water in the footwell.

If it is definitely water, I think you may have the same problem I had. The drainage holes in the bulkhead got blocked with dead leaves and petals, so the water fills up the bulkhead and water eventually makes its way inside the cabin.

To clear it, remove the trim under the wiper. On each side of the car there are 3 or 4? slots in the bodywork which will become apparent once you remove the trim. Using a long piece of stiff wire poke it through the slots and wiggle the wire. Hopefully it will clear the blockage. When I did it, I got very wet feet because the water had backed up a lot and it all came flooding out from inside the wheel arches. I seem to remember there was a thread on here with pictures.

Good luck with fixing it!
