Tried this today mixed feelings love the sound and handling but not impressed with gear box seemed to be quite obvious lurches in changes in auto and manual modes !
Also paint on rear bumper darker and lighter on front bumper .:-(
Then went to try a 4.7S Auto much prefered this box for my needs sweeter changes with paddles and Auto Still sounded great to my ears but due for a service so thinking that over .....

Did they change the clutch on that yellow?I know from the previous owner that clutch wear was around 70-80%.I'm 100% sure with a new clutch will be another story

Yes, needs a clutch change..Was mentioned on here a few times........The gear box of choice though does seem to be the MC Auto box...Best of both worlds...

I did ask and still original clutch there were obvious 1 sec changes and dips in power and car lurching where other flappy changes I have driven have been seemless , Porsche Jaguar etc and seemed like milliseconds ! The Carbon trom was very nice and to be fair the salesman very good had a long test drive and not too pushy but around London at 3pm I obviously could not drive it that fast ! I think overpriced considering ill matched bumpers and iffy clutch .
The other car was black i really did not want a black one as most of them seem to be black !but I have to admit I can now see why the shape does look stunning in Black It is such a classy car that colour really compliments the Car
It was due a 4th 30k mile service the chap said £800 but guessing it could work out more as often the case what is the average service cost around that milage ? Do they often throw up extras like discs dampers etc at that sort of milage ?

The gearbox will never be as smooth as the competition as most are double clutch now where as I believe Maserati are not.

I have test driven a low mileage example with the MC Shift box and it is a different league to the Gransport Cambiocorsa. As stated previously, the clutch must be on the way out. Don't let one experience put you off. As many of us on here have test driven multiple examples before finding the one. They are very individual motors.

I am very happy with the Auto so will be looking for one of those , Just need to work out potential cost of that 6 year 30k service to decide on haggling approach on the Black car ??? I really love the cream interior as well Made the car feel a lot more special to me

I'll second that.

The MC Shift vs Auto debate is a passionate one on here and ultimately down to personal preference.

I think that the MC Auto box (as provided with the Sports Pack on the GT S) is the perfect combination. For me anyway. :)

I think its a bit odd. You should be negotiating on a car ready to go. Tell them to service it and you will negotiate on the advertised price. I dont think Dicky ever sells a car without it being serviced. I wouldnt even do it if I was selling privately. Especially if they are asking a price close to that of other cars ready to go. Dont profess to be an expert on such matters but I wouldn't even look.

A lot of it depends on what you want. I have an auto and - obviously - really like it especially on a dry day in sport manual.

I don't like the MC shift with a drive in a demo GT Sport (ie brand new) not even working for me. Bear in mind it is not a dual clutch gearbox so will never be as smooth as what you get with Porsche etc. Just get the car that suits you, plenty of people disagree on this so look after your own interests.

PS A 6 year service is the same as a 2 year. The big ones are at 4 and 8. That said it depends on how much of the 4 year one was actually done so check with the service book, receipts etc.

Last service in book 10k miles First 2 Maranello he stated last one was not stamped at Maranello but I can verify this with them , this was 12 months ago and 12000 miles ! but I am concerned no piece of paper as it might state recommended discs or whatever not done! plus he said a service was £800 so presume thats how much he spent last time , The car has an independant warranty , new MOT and newish P Zeros so he has hardly skimped but why not finish that off with a service ?? just makes me a bit suss , I made an offer if he Gets the service but no reply as yet ......

Nice looking car.

I think that you have done the right thing - make an offer on condition of the car having been serviced properly. A service could (but probably won't) throw up all sorts of things so that is not a risk that the seller should be expecting YOU to take, in my opinion.

There are plenty of other Gran Turismos our there after all.

True there are over 30 GTS cars on Auto trader alone under 40k miles and under £45k so lots of choice !
