Well after being out of a trident for nearly a year, I finally got into a Lambo.

It's funny how times change. As a kid with such cars on my wall I naively thought they were cool and somehow was a metric for success.

How wrong was I!

Then I grew up over many decades, matured and learnt some stuff. None of it impresses me now.

Each to their own of course but I have zero desire to own a Lambo now myself.

Having worked there on and off for 15 years I can confirm that Preston is a place of taste and class.

If that isn't sarcasm, you've got problems only a bullet can cure. My brother-in-law lives between Ribchester and Longridge, not far from Amari, and he's a bit of a **** as well.

Office is actually in Bamber Bridge, other choices to park my *** are Crewe, Birmingham and Euston. The railway passed through many places none of which you’d want to stop!

A few years ago on a run-out with the SCD, Amari rocked up in a white Murcielago with a sports exhaust system. At the time, my spyder was running a straight through exhaust and, at one point, he was following me. On a short stretch of dual carriageway he came hurtling past, chopped me up and squeezed into a gap between me and the car in front. I sat there with a thinks bubble wondering what his problem was so, at the next stop, I asked him. He said he couldn't hear himself think so, however he could, he had to get in front of me. From that point on, it was game on. Ryan was p!ssing himself for the rest of the run. Hapoy days.

When you were young, they WERE cool. To have a Lambo in the 60/70/80’s was uber cool. By the 90’s it was still okay. Much beyond that, when Audi took over....not so much. But that doesn’t stop them being awesome!

Thinking about it, do I still fancy the idea of an Aventador? Yes! Am I’m brave enough to say that to my wife? No.

I guess it is a myriad of things in 2022 that has changed many thoughts and opinions. I'd like to think I'll be a very different person again in 5/10/20 years time as I learn more and become a better version of me.

My daughter wants a massive house, an AMG G Wagen and a Urus. If it makes her happy then great. I'm hoping she might find more meaningful enlightenment before adulthood. However if it gives her true joy, happiness and meaning then why not.

I keep reiterating to the kids it isn't 'i want' it is 'I would like' instead. Subtle nuance but one I feel is always important to me anyway.

Totally agree with you Dean.
As a boy I spent a lot of time with my father as I thoroughly enjoyed his Garage life activities which had a mechanical shop and body aswell.
I experienced journeys in wonderful cars of that era the most modern he had early 70's was a Jaguar XJ6 and a Lotus Elan both amazing.
When he had the Iso Rivolta Jensen Interceptor Ferrari 330 GT I was doomed.
Glad I have ticked a few off the list but many more things important in life now for me.
Love being on here and seeing everyone's adventures though :)

Agreed Phil. Life can be a rich tapestry and it is often the ad-hoc or less planned moments that end up being the most meaningful ones. Often ones that weren't monetary based or biased.

Seize those moments and enjoy them. Too many get caught up in materialism and money as a metric of success. I'd say some of the cheaper simpler cars I've had and do have give me less guilty simpler pleasures these days.

Everybody is different of course which is why life and people intrigue me so much. One person can be happy with the complete opposite to what someone else is happy with.

I think it is how you are in life, your morals, your ethics, how you are with others and what you can do for others that feels rewarding and more meaningful to me. These can be very different for different people of course.

As long as it makes you happy and you haven't hurt anyone in the process then it is all good.

As title, always wanted a Huracan and just had to have one! Perf is the ultimate spec for me as a trade-off between out and out track weapon (SFO) and useable comfort (standard Huracan) and in Corsa mode it comes alive.

Some of you saw it at the last Ace meet and have done many shows in it so far in the last 6 weeks or so and plenty planned including Le Mans Classic and Scramble etc. Will be on Car Wow at some

point too.

Hmm. A new orange Lambo.... Problem with these is, as others have said.... I wanted one badly at 12 years old (what car mad lad didn't?) Then even in your 20s it would still be cool because you're still young enough to carry it off. But by the time you even have a sniff of affording one, you're deep into middle age and I'd just feel like a tw@ in one.

Plus these days the ownership has changed... in my youth they simply didn't exist other than the pages of car mags, and if you drove one, you were either a car enthusiast who'd done well, or Rod Stewart. Now, you see them every day, and a good % of the owners aren't really enthusiasts... or are footballers. There's one in my work car park (and this is the rail workers' car park... in Leeds. I'm not a stockbroker in the square mile.) You'd have to drive a Pagani now to get the same effect.

I suppose if did go down the Lambo route it would have to be a classic.... always fancied an Espada....

Closest I've come, and will ever come I I to a lambo was after I sold my 3200ac, and a murceilargo in bright green that was used on track day hire was up at 30k, it did have a blown engine mind and this was probably 10 years ago or so

I'd have been divorced if came back with it, and no doubt needed alot of suspension brakes etc. So probably another 30k to get it right at least, but would have been a good investment
