This is taken from infront of the o/s front wheel. Water is clear. This puddle formed in about an hour. Any ideas? Cheers

The aircon drain is level with the pedals slighty to the right of the tunnel in the drivers footwell . If that is too fare forward I would taste it . If its pure then its probably water from the undertray . Basically check your water level has n't dropped . If it has nt then it's not coolant .

Many thanks all.

At the time of the original dripping the car was parked on a slight incline with front wheels higher. I haven’t seen any more drips since parking on level surfaces.

I can probably guess the answer, but was the system designed this way?!

If you run out of screen washer in the next day or so, my money would be on a blocked nozzle as they then syphon out.

Don't worry that is normal and a good sign as it was designed to do this. If the AC drain is not doing that then you should start getting worried! (At the very worst the entire dash needs to come out to unblock this drain)

Also the system was designed for the AC to be on constantly (pretty standard for most cars of this era I have had BMW and MB from the early 2000's which were the same) so keep it on even in winter or you might risk the AC pump seizing. It does clearly say it in the owners manual... Only put it in "eco" (AC off) if you are running low on fuel

Lick it, if it tastes sweat, its antifreeze but I suspect it will be fresh water from the AC drain as others have suggested.

Obviously, its toxic so only a taste and rinse with lager after. 5 or 6 pints should be sufficient. I hear wine can also be used.

@conaero shots of grey goose vodka lol

To the OP if the interior of your car seems damp then take apart the skuttle clean out any detritus and dry out any water that has collected around/under the pollen filter... Plus use compressed air down the drain tubes to keep them tip top...

Also inside the car take apart the left hand front passenger side kick panel and check for dampness in the carpets, wiring loom and generally under the heater matrix as these are an extremely common failure now these cars are 10+ years old - it seems as though most of the classico style 4200s have had theirs done and it's the face lift cars that doing
