Washer jets… again

Hi

I know washer jets are a pretty frequent topic.

Mine packed up the other week and as I was getting nothing at all I thought it must have been the pump.

However I realised that the washer jets for the lights are still working.

Are they on the same pump?

If they are does anyone know what my problem is? Just blocked pipes?

Thanks!

I think there are 2 pumps. Eurospares is showing
65358700 as windscreen and 65164700 headlight. I would disconnect pipe at pump and see if pumping and if it is then work up towards the jets. Could be blockage or stuck non return valve maybe.

I had to replace the T-piece on my GT that is under the scuttle panel. Also had to remove the jets and soak them in hot water with a steradent tablet to clear them out.

The biggest pain is undoing all the bolts for the engine covers.

First thing to do is check the pump is working- disconnect the hose before it goes under the scuttle.

I’m assuming it’s similar to a GT

Top tip - if it’s just connectors that you need, visit an aquatic shop.

There are 2 pumps yes.

First thing, pull the pipe were it goes into the scuttle under the bonnet. If you have pressure there, it will be the T piece under the scuttle.

You don’t need to remove the wipers, just the screws and you can get it up enough to get your hand in.

Put a cable tie round the pipe to stop it coming off again.

Are you using Halfords premixed screen wash the pretty green or blue one?
I had a failed pump on the screen washer on the Gran Turismo and once I checked it was not the pump I found it was the wash fluid and it blocked the jets with some slimy string stuff that was the same colour as the screen wash!
I now use a concentrate and dilute it and no problems since, fingers crossed.

I have actually been using tesco stuff but it was only a top up.

Not sure what was in there before then but they have never worked very well.

I have removed the pipe at the scuttle and good news is that the pump still works

So to remove the scuttle do I just need to undo these screws? I have decided to replace the nozzles anyway (as I said they never worked well) so will wait for those to arrive and then get it done.

My offside washer was not working last week. Turned out using a clean paint brush to poke into the hole cleared it, then lots of spraying.

Mine stopped working on Saturday afternoon, and then just magically started again 50 miles later. (QPV)

MY 2006 QP stopped delivering water to the screen last month. No noise from the pump this time. ( suspect it needs a new pump + half a day to get at the thing)
Already cleaned out all the tubes and connectors, gunked up with "pond slime". Really does need some decent additive + regular use.
