Too much sun here... if I was to wash any of our fleet (all 3 are black, and it looks like a funeral directors here at times), then they would just end up looking like a hazy hologram as the heat causes the paint to looked scratched to ****.

Maybe I will do it in the dark as the next 2 weeks are forecast to be the same.

I've never had the bottle to 'wash' any of the engine bays in any modern car I've had. You ever have any issues with electronics?

You foam and rinse?
I’ve never had any issues washing engine bay. Modern engines are sealed well.

back in the days with the older engines water would affect the distributer/plugs/coils etc but my 2004 Maserati is fine. Just one thing. Never point the pressure washer nozzle close up to any components you will damage something. But a general rinse and scrub is fine.

My engine bay gets very wet when washed due to the bonnet vents. I always dry it after, but I couldn’t bring myself to put the hose on it.

imo, never wash and/or hose an engine bay, if you want to detail, then use small paint brushes and degreaser if that bad on older oily engine bays if you really must, remember the days when garages used to steam clean engine bays

I used to regularly jet wash the Atoms engine, it was virtually impossible to miss it. Never had an issue but I can see that Italian electronics may not like a soaking.

Mine only ever gets dusty, but would be nice to give it the occasional blast as its really hard to get rid of dust from everywhere.
Should probably use my airline more. Lol.

Well... I put my big boy pants on, manned up, and gave it a go!

There was nearly 2 years worth of dust on the hard to reach places, and airline wouldn't shift it, so went for it rather nervously.

Made sure I didn't direct it anywhere silly, alternator, electrics etc.

Started and drove fine afterwards. Win

That looks good. How did you set about it Sam? What did you use and how did you use it? My 2008 QP would benefit from that sheen in the engine bay...
