Just wondered if anyone has an aftermarket warranty on their Maser? I had one of r a few years on the RS4 and used it loads for things like MAF, Lambda, EGT sensors and it saved me a bucketload. Does anyone have one or know who will cover these cars?

I did ask Warranty Direct about them when I renewed mine last year and was told they would be covering them in the near future but at that time they were not providing cover.

i had it with warranty wise but its a waste of £300 a year, as they never pay out, little bits i got done for free where with the dealer i bought it from

Had two warranties during early ownership, each around 1K p.a., but the wording was incredibly vague and payouts came with conditions (e.g. who inspects the car) so I would never go there again.

My car came with a Warranty Wise Gold cover.

They have just paid out over £300 for a bill for fixing a faulty engine oil sensor and passenger airbag sensor. Now just awaiting whether they'll be as accomodating with an electrical fault and oil leak the car developed just before Christmas.

ETA:There was no hassle, quibbles or indeed and questions from them whatsoever. The cheque arrived within seven days. I'm seriously considering extending the cover once the policy runs out.

They have a buying guide on their page so I'd expect them to cover it!

All true?

Electrics can be troublesome, so make sure everything works.
3200GTs builts in 1999 and 2000 were recalled over brake issues. Check the work has been done, as it's a very costly job.
Early examples had dodgy drive-by-wire throttles; check the software has been updated.
Make sure there's no juddering squeaking from the brakes; pads wear and discs warp with replacements costly.
If buying a semi-auto, check it swaps ratios smoothly; the clutch can fail.
If buying a manual, ensure there's no clutch slip; replacements are expensive.
Check there's plenty of tread on the tyres; replacements aren't cheap.

Yeah they can be expensive to keep up together.
The last one on my car for a full service with new discs and pads allround and a pair of rocker gaskets was £4,600 paid for by the guy i bought the car from main reason i bought the car for me as 8 years of history totalls thousands and makes fantastic reading.
I get customers whingeing over a £250 service bill with me.
