Worry not mate. If it returns I’ll come to you for a repair. Been on the Hoegaarden in my pub so no cares in the world right now.
Hi Paul, very similar problem to you, with additional passenger microswitch failure and probably self inflicted halo airbag childseat installation error. How did you get on with the new battery?

I drive for sometimes 10mins sometimes 30mins and ABS/ASR/MSP/EPB lights up. Clears on restart, seems more sensitive in Sport. Battery is 1year old ExideEA1000. Been on CTEK except first 3 weeks of of ownership in Dec. Now 12.2v resting, 14.4v idle. OBD says front nearside ABS fault.

Looking almost definitely new hub/abs sensor?

Since replacing the battery the fault hasn't returned. I've driven the car a good few miles since replacing the battery including a 100 mile journey.

Yours sounds like a wheel bearing or ABS sensor for sure sadly.

Just had a new wheel bearing - the part is a tad expensive from Maserati, no idea who does a pattern part. I had HR Owen replace it for under £1k with some haggling being as they had it for a service anyway. The ABS fault went away with the new bearing. The fault lights didn't go off and there was a point at a junction when I wasn't stopping, hence I had a sure fire feeling it wasn't the battery. Good luck.

The dreaded ABS wheel bearing manifests in many ways.

FYI, the forum price at Sportsitalia fitted is:

Front: £718 plus vat / £861.69
Rear: £777 plus vat / £932.49

My Strad started three years before replacement with cutting out when cold and on turning left occasion, park off error. I convinced myself this was low power battery.

Then, as Zep will testify being in the car, cutting out at 5th to 6th changes during the Tuscan Tea Party tour several times.

Then I started getting Park Off errors then the full ABS, ASR, suspension failure, go to dealer.

I finally got a permanent ABS light on the dash and the speedo reading 10 mph with the car off and locked.

On replacement of the front hub bearing all these woes went away and it’s been perfect since.

That was fun wasn’t it? Always nice when driving someone else’s car! :p

Yes, I expect its too good to be true. Will await its return. Good to know about the deal with SportsItalia, if I don't do it myself.
Cheers

As an aside, get the ctek "comfort connect" which includes three LEDS (red amber green) to indicate level of charge in the battery. Mine stays green for several unused days only unless charging via ctek. And that is with a new battery.

Really? Mine stayed green for about 30 seconds! Same on the Continental

When I say it was green, I assume it was after shutting the boot :-|
On ly joking - it was definitely still green. Almost always open the boot again, not to check the led of course. Need to free up the cable loom trapped by boot-lid against window bottom seal. Don't know why I even bother any more, the boot lock is somewhat reluctant. There is a pattern to when it works, seems to be days of the year which equal a prime number.

Your issue is diagnosis. You are shooting fish in a barrel if you don’t have EasyMaz or the like.

A garage down the road OBD'd it to NS speed sensor but when something is so fickle its hard to trust the readings. Presume there is no way to tell if its the hub thats on the way out or the sensor is just duff as it looks like the sensor is available on its own? Obviously buying the sensor and bearing with sensor would be more painful still.

That is an acceleration sensor, it is for the skyhook system nothing to do with the ABS sensor.

If the wheel speed sensor is failing you will have to go the painful way and buy the whole hub, they are not available seperately. Sorry!
