Hi

I may be mad but am after a new project, WFH driving me potty and need to spend more time in the garage. I'm after a solid Quattroporte V (or maybe 90s Ghibli / QP IV) with engine/transmission issues but otherwise in good overall condition but will consider anything.

Thanks in advance and look forward to getting to know you all more as the project progresses!..

Possibly look for one with subframe rust issues , DIY fixable for reasonable money if you're supplying the labour but a write off for most as the cost of paying someone is prohibitive so you might find a cheap car

Considering that the price difference of a very nice QP vs a basket case is really not that different I would suggest to have a second thought. Otherwise good call to go after a QP (4 or 5).

I know it's not a QP but there is a 54 or 05 plate silver 4200 that needs paint and some work on Facebook marketplace. Currently up for 9k but may get lucky.

Lucky is buying a 04 back in 2014 for £5K but you have to act quickly when you see them.
Good Luck in your search.

Depends if the aim is to get out of the house for long periods of time ;)

The time out of the house could be spent driving the car rather than fixing it ;)

A a rotted subframe car sound like a good suggestion.

I m sure that a 15yr old maserati, even in good shape would give you the occasional opportunity to get busy ;)

Besides we need to get out of the house not just to fix them but to drive them too!

It seems like it's an easier job than trying to diagnose engine or gearbox problems without a 15k computer , very labour intensive to change a subframe but nuts and bolts
