I like the look of these with the trident logo on the brake pedal cover, but prices for OEM from the main dealers is not so appealing! Anybody have a spare set or know where I can get similar at lower cost? Cheers

Out of interest @Mike X , I pinged an email to Ultimate Pedals asking them to confirm they intended me to screw the rest plate through th floor using the woodscrews they provided, and into the wiring under the pan...!!:p
They replied by saying they advise screwing the rest plate to the existing plastic rest plate fitted to the car...! (So probably left proud of the floor by +5mm...!)
Not particularly convinced so still haven't fitted them as yet ! :scared3:

Mine's stuck down with 3M tape and screws. The carpet will take a screw very happily. Simply screw, remove, trim to length and replace.

3M isnt a bad idea !
Presumably, the OEM restplate is simply fixed with an adhesive. If I can identify the right type, this is favourite . My van was fitted out using screws in carpet...It sux ! ;)

The original rest is actually fitted by means of a set of posts attached to the back , they go through the carpet and are then melted into a mushroom shape to fix it , pretty easy to just pull off .
The original rest is fairly thick , so you are right , fitting the new pate to it would look naff and you would probably catch your shoe on the edge .
I also stuck mine down , I used Velcro and a couple of cut down screws to hold it to the carpet , I lifted the carpet first , just for a look , and there is a pretty big loom running right across that area , certainly didn’t fancy drilling into the floor either , god knows what’s under there , probably the fuel lines knowing my luck .
Anyway , so far so good , I pushed it as far left as I could before I fixed it , so it has nowhere to slide and it hasn’t budged at all .

I'm sorted! I decided to try to keep to OE parts and managed to get both throttle and brake pedals off ebay.

The throttle is a total swap of the whole pedal assembly secured by 3 bolts to the floor. It's simply plug and play with the electrical connectors.

The brake is more complex in that the gridded alloy cover plate secures to the alloy pedal by 4x screws into threaded holes in the pedal, but my rubber covers pedals didn't have any holes. I had to drill through the pedal and secure using M6 x 20mm stainless countersunk headed bolts and stainless nylon nuts on the back of the pedal. Both parts off eBay and all done for £180 with a totally OE result!
