As per the title, on the look out for a rear shock to replace a weeping OSR.

If I have to buy new (can you even buy new?) it won't just be the shock that's weeping.

Pretty sure you can’t buy new, so that saves some tears I suppose!

I have been offered part no. 182778 which I believe is a pre-facelift Skyhook shock.

How does that differ, if at all, from 197912?

Cross-referencing suggests a model year difference...the 197912 applying to later models...looks like minor differences. Regardless...not sure I would replace just one rear shock.

Indeed, if I changed I would want the same across the axle. But it did make me wonder if the pre-facelift shock had different dampening to the post-facelift.

Anyway, the search continues as I don't think it would be the right course.

Have you looked into Koni shocks (not coilovers)...?

No, but I will contact them and see if they do anything.

I did contact BC and they have no plans to bring forward anything for the 4200 (I thought they might be interested as they do coilovers for the Granturismo and QP.

As you are US based, have you considered the Ceika coilovers?
Have...just struggling as I don't personally know anyone besides kids with Hondas who run them

Am adding FD springs and sway bars to the Coupe; Spyder has Skyhook...so KWs seem the right call there, eventually...unless there's another/better option

You could use any brand of coilovers for a skyhook car, you should be able to disconnect the skyhook module to disable the skyhook.

Just ambivalent about the Ceika product...it's an unknown

When you say any brand @Zep , what is out there?

I only know of the Ceika from the US with the hassle of shipping and duty, or the KW.V1 at ca. £3k.

I am not sure there are any others, but there might be some custom options. Those are the two I know of.

There was a chap in France who has gone with the Ceika, and seemed pleased at the time.
