Nice to be able to do what you are doing and knowing that if things work out how you wanted then you can always come back!! I agree with your reasons BTW..................Good luck and hope it all works out well!

best of matey, hope all works out for you on all fronts
Something I do all the time, UK, Denmark, Ireland twice in last 3/4 years, used to it and to be honest, I enjoy getting about and seeing stuff, places, cultures in work mode rather than holiday mode. Playing the poor-boy a but but we couldn't afford holidays when I was a kid and after really when starting a family, so this works for me.

Cheers again all but is the Hull - Rotterdam route worth it? Saves on car mileage and can kip overnight. Hull - Zeebrugge would be better but running only freight at the moment. Any tolls in NL? Roads ok?

Did that crossing several times last year and I liked it.
Not glamorous but was a bit of fun at the same time.

No tolls in Holland, bit like here but always found that some of the major roads have a habit of just stopping in the middle of town. What’s the WW2 bridge film with the guy from Mission Impossible? That’s a prime example

Makes me wish I stayed in software engineering! All the best bro
I'm looking to gain a EU passport since Brexit fuucked me up work-wise, Gramps was Irish but I can't prove it - like he never existed and I've worked in Ireland for something like 3 years out of last 7 - not enough tho.

So starting again in Lux which seems to be good for my industry, but I'll be 63 if I say long enough to get Lux nationality, not sure if I'll live that long lol! Goals keep me going tho, u never know I'm live as long as my uncle who popped his at 90....

RIP Uncle Ronnie

Thanks again again! I've decided I'm doing Hull - Rotterdam, overnight, 13 hour sailing, then down to Arlon.

Less driving and no M25 to deal with even in lockdown bet it's no fun.

I'm in Wakefield so an hour or so to ****. I mean Hull, obviously. Kip on boat, 3/4hr drive to Arlon, I can cope with that.
