Has anybody experienced this or knows if replacement vinyl material can be sourced?
The panels are the same on both the 4200 and GS. The covering is made from a very thin vinyl skin that appears to be quite unique to what's generally available from upholsterers.
I understand that Poltrona Frau supplies the leather for our cars, so I just sent them an email to about the vinyl cover....hopefully someone picks it up!
The panels I am referring to are parts 11 and 12 on here:
They cost GBP 300 per unit to replace and will come re-skinned from Maserati (takes 6-8 weeks)...ouch!
My mechanic in Dubai said that they are both peeling and towards the rear glass have deformed due to heat (they were like that when I bought the car in the US...it was a Florida car). He also said it was clear someone had used some glue to stick them back on, but to no avail...
If I can source the vinyl, we can paint to match if needed and can also use heat to straighten the deformed bits.
Otherwise, I am going to have to drop GBP 600!
Cheers,
JP
