Something I have been waiting to start, tonight at 9 on Quest.

An interesting concept of putting electric motors in old classics.

Owning a 69 Opel GT and knowing what a pain old cars are like it’s interesting to me.

I may well take a look at that, but the only voltage my classic mustang will ever get will be a new battery, I can see the attraction though.

It’s an interesting idea to run old classic looks with reliability as a daily.

Saw this and set it to record, it may not be for the purists but is a different way of keeping classics useable although mate looked at it last year the costs were extremely high

The F500 is one of the cars they are doing.

Someone needs to start doing off the shelf kits.

I was looking at a site recently that has a Subaru conversion kit for a 500, worrying in so many ways

a scooby 500 interesting but scary, i remember meeting this old italian fella a few years back to get some spares for my 500 and he had this gorgeous 500 with an alfa engine fitted and did a proper professional job, he was going back to italy and had to sell it as italian law doesn't allow for modified cars like that, i was half tempted to buy it but he wanted about 15k

Will set a series record for it. I agree with the idea of off the shelf kits and I’m sure it will happen but get also that it makes sense why Tesla and others don't encourage repurposing of their kit. When a back street shop fits out a car with Tesla batteries and motors and it catches fire a month later because of a balls up in the wiring they did, Tesla gets bad press out of it.

Alex and I have looked into it for the T2 camper as it would make perfect sense and is really an ideal donor vehicle.

I think Chesil Speedsters have done that with their 356. I am sure I read it was using Tesla battery packs.

At the London Classic car show there was a company there who had made a few classic electric.
VW Camper, a Beetle, a 500 and a 911 if memory serves me correctly.

this month Classic Cars magazine features SL500 with volts transplant by an outfit in Wales.

Just watched the video clip on the Beetle transformation , really quite impressed. The motor really suits the engine bay of beetle, so guess the 911 they did will look great too.

Vehicle electrification is a Red Herring, it's just shifting one emission scandal to another, I can't believe how many of the big car brands have jumped on this tat. Batteries..that's your problem..

Six months and 30k ouch! I didn't really understand the gearbox and clutch idea. Using the gearbox to drive the shaft yes but changing gear!
