Does this mean a correction? I might get £20k for the GTS now instead of £18k?

hmmmm

They sold 6 in the UK last year and 12 the year before so who cares?

Is that because there was a choice of engine? There were no V6 or D QPV's.... it's a weird market. The GTS car with the V8 lump should have been the only one in Petrol form imo.

I feel its more the cars they are putting them in. Put it in the Alfieri or similar and a V8 will most definitely be wanted as a preference over anything else.

Talking to the HR Owen guys at Millbrook yesterday, this is specific to RHD markets for the QP since they sold so few GTS versions. It is not expected to affect other cars, eg the forthcoming Levante V8 GTS which they still expect to come here in RHD in due course

I'm looking forward to my meeting with a industry expert to talk about the future of Maserati and how they have got most of it wrong in the last few years.

I noticed that the S model has gone from the Ghibli as well. So the choice is between diesel and the 350HP petrol. Are Brits so tight that they haven't been splashing out for the more powerful engine?

Sad state of affairs. Should be on the options, even if its a build to order.

No the S been stopped until the new year when they can make it meet the new emissions regs. It isn’t possible to order the S Levante either at the moment production has stopped at the factory so if you want new, it is one in stock or pre built in Italy. Loads of manufacturers are the same, Audi can’t sell you a new petrol in loads of their line up. You can’t even get a higher powered 500 Abarth until next year at the current estimates.

Got most of it wrong but sales have gone thought the roof..mmmm.

Doesn't mean **** if its diluting the brand and they aren't producing cars worthy of the trident badge anymore. Now the GTS has gone what have they got that gives you that nutsack tingle anymore? The desire to own one.

We will be buying a Ghibli in the next few months as a runaround/wokhorse for the business but i'm not even excited about that prospect.

This is a good point. Despite the record sales and record profits, there is a long term view to take aswell. FWIW I don't think they have overly harmed in any way the brand. However, they DO need to bring out a sports car (Alfieri) very soon or they will start to harm the brand image

Isn’t this a slightly one dimentional view? They have a responsibility to increase shareholder value and the most logical and obvious route to doing that is to get more people driving something with a trident badge on. Given they are doing that it seems their business plan is working and justified, at least in part. I would also question how much in reality it has diluted the brand, how many do you actually see?? A minuscule number compared to the more mainstream alternatives and most non petrol heads wouldn’t even know the Ghibli and QP exists. Tell lost you have a Maserati and it still holds a huge amount of intrigue and interest. The halo will return, but necessity for volume dictates it is a secondary priority.

I will not buy a brand new Maserati and I suspect most on here are the same.
The image of the car is still there. Put my 10 year old QP next to a sparkling new BMW etc and I know which one people will be interested in and gather around. So keep selling the Ghibli and Levante but be aware this good will has a time limit

Good job there are loads of other amazing cars and manufacturers to take your money. It’s a good time to be a petrol head.
