Totally agree Mark.
I'm looking at Jaguar XK and XKR from 06 to 14.
So cheap its unbelievable.
I could this last week get £1500 off an already bargain price car without being cheeky.
I'm playing the game and then picking up what I think will be the bargain of the century.

Quite right, And whoever you buy from will be happy to have sold, plus you'll have a blindingly capable, fun and good-looking car. Happy days.

I'm looking for a new work horse (circa £20k) whereas my choice a couple of years ago would be 6-7 year old E Class or BMW 5 Series/Audi A4's etc.
It's now the aforementioned but 3 or 4 years old, Range Rover Sport (new shape) Audi A7, 3 year old Jeep Grand Cherokee with all the toys (50k+ list price), I literally don't know what to go for.

For me on this Wonderful Forum Maserati will always be in my Heart along with Ferrari and I have had some adventures with them taking the last one 12,000 miles to NZ.
Now I find I'm drawn to Jaguar good looking,
Quality with heritage and some very quick cars for bargain money.
The 5.0 XKR has it all and I only need two seats so unless a Stradale appears for £15 K my decision is made.

Simples, any modern Viking would quite clearly use a Range Rover. Plenty of room for the Blonde locks to flow in the Scandinavian chilled a/c airflow, plenty of pillaging room in the back, fast enough to get to the next Frey or indeed escape from one.

We recently went for a few days away in Whitby and a friend of my fathers (car dealer) very kindly loaned us this RR Sport as we needed 5 seats. I guess you know me by now, I am a 3 pedal Petrolhead all the way so you would think I would hate a auto diesel!!.............For the long lazy journey I loved every minute with it!! No, I wouldn't buy one but for a office on wheels tourer it was fantastic, it was like driving a Chesterfield!6166661667

I'm pretty sure I read a report a couple of days ago that the RR Sport was in the top 5 most unreliable cars in Britain and/or the most unreliable

Possibly, but that’s only if you use it.
Parked on a driveway, impeccable. I read a report from a Maserati Forum member recently and he was impressed. It was compared to an old couch and it performed well by comparison.

Because of Brexit, people are keeping their cash in their own pockets, through fear of the unknown, and the potential huge increase in costs of everything.
No one is going to spend 30k on a toy when their bank balance says £500 and the finance is £400 a month and there is a potential for losing their job and their monthly outgoings going up by £200.

So those who want to sell their 30k toy for that exact reason, aren't getting the buyer. Hence they drop the price.....

Probably why I don't see this as I haven't got 30k to spend on a toy......Still think its not just leaving Europe and a mixture. Prices have been falling for ages and not just the UK...This is environmental impact has had a huge effect on the industry more than anything and that isn't going away.

But if you go down the EV/Hybrid route, is there not the risk of even quicker obsolescence with tech being the driver, so a car is regarded like an iPhone or other tech?
Keeping an old car is probably the most environmentally friendly thing to do...

Used car market is weird at the moment.
Since buying my M140i at 12 months old I've been tracking valuations made by Philip Schofield WBAC.
For the last 8 months straight their valuation has been the same even though its getting older and the mileage has increased from 23K to 31K over that period.
It's now 32 months old.
I've thought about swapping it but seems rather silly as it presently is depreciation free even though is used daily.

Good luck getting a 2015/16 RR Sport for £20k. AT have RR at that price but you're looking at a 2012ish model.

The new shape started in 2013.

This is 22k

With a bit of haggling...

There are plenty around the 23-24k mark.
Go to auction, you're definitely looking sub 20k
